 Hello,

I was just curious if there is much difference between the Mage origin and the Human Noble origin in how the game reacts to you.
Do NPCs react to you in a manner different enough to consider another playthrough? What about the companions, do they react differently? What difference there is between how the elves consider you in Nature of the Beast or in Paragon of a Kind, things like that.

I've played the Mage origin all the way through and want to know if it's worth playing through again as a Human Noble to see the differences.

Thanks ^_^

Well, a human noble can become King or Queen Consort; a mage can't. A human noble will also be called Lord on occasion. Mages also can't inherit titles or land, but a human noble can. You probably can expect the different races will note if you are a dwarf or elf mage.

Thanks :)

I'm using mods to change the whole Queen thing so I'm not too bothered about that. I just want to know if, for example Arl Eamon acts differently to you if you're the daughter/son of a noble family he must of have had contact with.

Some NPCs (including Wynne) have specific dialogue based on whether you are a Cousland or a mage. Also, mage can enter Connor's dream and make a deal with the desire demon whereas if you are using Morrigan or Wynne, you only get to defeat her.

You get a bit of unique dialogue with Morrigan after the tower of Ishaal where you can mention that you're a noble; also you get a lot with Arl Howe and with Loghain, and with Anora. Its the only way to become King-Consort. Theres quite a few instances throughout the game where its mentioned briefly.

I believe Eamon does acknowledge that.  But it mostly just subtle differences in dialogue as opposed to huge differences in storyline.

So is it worth another playthrough?

Cheers for all the answers :)

Well, there are so many decisions and so many branches that I'd recommend another playthrough regardless. But, as I happen to love playing a Cousland I would say yes. I think the origin story is very well done and there's something to be said for feeling attachment to your family by the time the origin story is done.

Its more about your background then your race.

As a mage you got alot of mage only dialog and reactions.
