Haha. Arcania. Yeah, that game was err... umm.. yeah.
It wasn't made by the original developers of the series, they got into a fight with the publisher and lost the license temporarily. So, Arcania was developed by a benchwarmer and Piranha Bytes went on to make Risen.
If you want to try the best of the Gothic series naughty, I'd recommend picking up Gothic 2 + the Night of the Raven expansion. Or Risen, they actually share a lot of elements. Risen is basically Gothic 4 with a different name... if it weren't for Arcania.
Best thing about Arcania 4 is that Jowood is now brankrupt.

Damn, i don't a top ten i have top 15 lists, so if you don't mind i will put 15, and here it is:
1. a Tie, Between:
Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar(Anyone who DARES to disagree will be B**** slaped by Me!!!!lol, jk)
and, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind(no, i don't like Oblivion, but Skyrim Better blow me away or i will hate Bethesda forever... although i'll proably still buy their games)
2. Baldur's Gate 2(anyone who Disagrees.... WILL SUFFER, THEY WILL ALL SUFFER)
3. PlanEscape Torment(They Should remake this game, not change it, just give it better graphics, launch at steam or something and make it live again, Current-Gen Gamers need a Brain exercise Desperately)
4.Aaaaaand we face yet ANOTHER tie! this time between:
Baldur's Gate 1
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age Origins(F**k You DA2!!!!....had to)
and, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
5. Might and Magic IV
6. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (Did people forgot about this game?! seriously, no one ever talks about it:unsure:...)
7. Knights of the Old Republic
8. Final Fantasy VI
9. The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
10. Fallout 3
11. Fallout 2
12. Fallout 1
13. Deus Ex
14. Chrono Trigger
15. Gothic 2 + Night of the Raven
No argument on Ultima IV, it was awesome and the series through VI were all great, I never went any farther though. Unfortunately, better graphics with incredible RPG elements in the more modern games are better now. Over the past few years though, they are regressing.
Good, Good.... no one questions my will! lol, i'm kidding, im kidding...
and btw Nice avatar.... just saying(i was laughing a lot the first time i watched that hole video:lol:)

Not an RPG. The characters and storyline are fixed so there's no role-playing.dragonfire100 wrote...
final fantasy 13
I haven't played all Final Fantasy games but the ones I played (6, 7, 10, 12 and 13) are definitely not role-playing games.
Zelda is also defintely not RPG.

2) Dragon Age: Origins
3) Oblivion
4) Dragon Age 2
4) Mass Effect
6) Neverwinter Nights 2
7) Fable: The Lost Chapters (Fable 1, just with the extra little bit)
8) Deus Ex
9) Fallout 3
10) Morrowind
If "MMO"-RPG's were able to be included (not that I saw anything forbidding) Guildwars would come an easy third. Story driven and quite often played it solo anyways.
