When I used to play P&P D&D in the 80s my PCs almost always had warhorses and packhorses etc.
Did the original designers ever consider making warhorses, barding etc. a part of the game? Does anyone know the history of their decision against doing so?
Also, many of the helms in the game (e.g. Sugarloaf knight helmets etc) look great when you find/buy them but when they are added to your avatar they come out looking pretty lame. Has there been a mod that makes the helmets look better on PC and NPC avatars?
Thanks everyone.

1) Horses. Yes, they were planned (afaIk) for the second game, the reason against it was engine limitations, I believe. There is still Bags of Holding though.
2) You may want to look into 1PP, Moinesse's Avatars and Infinite Animations (the latter of which doesn't directly address your problem though). Also indirectly involved: Item Revisions (which mostly uses 1PP materials, though).

Modding the character appearance (which in the Infinity engine means modding the animations) is pretty difficult.
More difficult than modding a modern 3D title, actually.
Each animation consists of a bunch of frames (think of animation movies), and there are animations
for several facing positions of one character per single action. Multiply by two for both sexes, multiply further for different races.Multiply even further for different actions (attacking single handed, ranged...).
That's why these kinds of mods are so rare for Infinity engine games, unfortunately.
