I seem to be having an odd issue with sound. There is no sound in the game except for the little tune that plays on the spash-screen.
The ODDEST part is this in the second time I'm installed the game. I've installed and played through the entire game fine just a few months ago.
No sound at all in Dragon Age 2.

It really makes no difference to the way we need for you to prepare a problem report, that the game and PC worked together at some point, until after the report has been filled in. See the reporting guide that starts out "Before anything else".

This is my problem as well. For some reason in the last few days all the sound in DA II has not been working in game.
It does work again however if I hit the windows button (to go to desktop) and then reenter Dragon Age so you might try that yourself. Still, its annoying and I'm worried its a a sign of a deeper problem perhaps?
My Specs:
Game Version: 1.3
Processor: Intel Core i-5-2400 3.1 Ghz
Display Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1 GB
Driver: 275.33
Sound Adapter: Realtek High Definition Audio
DriverL 6.0.1.6251
Windows 7
Direct X 11
I should note that I haven't updated windows or any drivers in the last few days that might have triggered the problem. I'm aware of the NVIDIA driver graphics glitch, but it hasn't caused a problem for me in that regard.
Edit: I'm not sure, but looking around it may have something to do with having "Force Stereo Sound" enabled. SO i'm going to try and turn that off and see if it makes a difference.
Edit2: Seems to have worked! Odd though, I've had "Force Stereo Sound" on since I first installed the game and only now does it cause problems. Hope that helps anyway!

Thanks for that update.
By selecting Force Stereo sound, it can cause a conflict with your audio drivers and audio card, preventing any sound from coming out.
