I'm playing Awakening, my first blood mage. As far as I read, blood mages are suppose to take from your health instead of your mana. For some reason that is not the case.
I have my Blood Magic sustained on, and use attacks. But it takes from my mana and not my health. And then when the battle is over my Blood Magic sustained goes away. So I have to constantly be using Blood Magic when it should be sustained and stay there like my other sustained.
I'm really confused! And running out of mana twice as fast. It's really annoying. Any ideas?

You have to activate "Blood Magic" then when you cast spells it will use your Health as mana with a decent reduction in costs.
Keep in mind sustained spells will still reduce your mana pool, not your health pool. Arcane Warrior complicates matters. First off heavier armor adds to Fatigue which % directly increases the cost of all your talents/spells, second Shimmering shield costs alot of mana and gives you a -10 mana regen penalty(you can actualy lose mana unless your regen is abouve this) and when you hit 0 mana most sustained spells shut off.
Also Blood Magic reduces the effects on Healing on yourself by -90% to keep in mind.
