First off, I want to thank anyone that help me with this problem ahead of time.

Now then, I have an unusual problem happening during ME2 gameplay.  Periodicly, usually during dialogue, the game will begin to lag, the sound will stutter, and overall performance will degrade rapidly, ending in a freeze that requires a restart for my pc.  What is unusual is that other parts of my computer are affected as well, but most notable cutting off internet access and generally degrading performance.  I have to restart my pc several times in order for everything to return to normal (one restart is not enough).  I have been playing ME2 since launch and never had an issue until now, certainly nothing like this.  This does not occur with any other game installed.  ME2 works flawlessly when lauched, at least until it freezes again.  It does not appear to be assossiated with any particular event within the game; the freeze happens at random (sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after an hour).  I have attempted to reinstall the game (I use a disc version), update drivers, turn off various settings within the game...to no avail.  I simply do not know what to do.  Any help would be appreciated.

Post your specs as per the "Read First" thread and we'll have a better chance of helping you. At the moment we can only WAG (wild arsed guess) it.
By the sounds of it, I'm guessing it might be a heat problem, especially as it takes a while for your system to stabilise afterwards. Download speedfan to check various temperatures and fans speeds.
Also check the fans in your system to make sure they arent clogged up with dust.

I have the exact same problem, but for me it is not just in dialouges. It can happen anywhere. I know that it started after installing the Kasumi DLC and the 1.02 patch.
I know there was a post about it a long time ago, but I dont think there was a real answer on how to make it go away.
I was just thinking of starting with ME2 again so I dont know if I still have the issue.

Sounds to me like one or more of your memory modules (RAM) is close to failing.

But that's just a WAG, since neither one ever answered with much in the way of data, especially the piggyback rider.
