So, what exactly is the "exclusive in-game content" coming with the Collector's Edition?

N7 weapons, alternate appeances, pet robot dog, art book, prothean squadmate, normany lithograph, etc.; sound familiar? You know, the stuff listed as coming with the Collector's Edition.

Originally, yes. Then they said they made a "mistake" and now it just says "a bonus companion".  You how BiowareEA loves to leak stuff by "mistake".

Some people think the prothean was integrated into the retail version and the CE will have a different bonus character.

Probably not. The mission and character were mentioned in the same line, so it lead to the impression that there was going to be a Prothean squadmate. It's far more likely that there's going to be a mission about a Prothean, but with a regular ME race squadmate (who knows, maybe Zaeed or Kasumi).

I think a Prothean squad-mate would kill a lot of canon and would require a lot of explaining. It would also freak the **** out of everyone too.

Bonus weapon should have been a unique shotgun or assault rifle titled "The Arishok." I thought that was a nice idea someone pitched on the bioware forums a long time ago.

I suggest you replay ME1 and listen to the information being given by Virgil and then walk around ME2 with Legion as a squaddie

Rumor of a never before found prothean ruin under the surface of a planet.

A number of stasis pods in the ruin.

One stasis pod remains active.

Problem solved, doesn't kill canon, easy to explain as far as I'm concerned.

From the image detailing the CE:
"Exclusive Squad Appearance Pack
Exclusive Arsenal Pack
Robotic Dog
Additional Downloadable Mission and Character
Bonus Avatars and More"

The Gamestop description lists:
"Additional in-game content including
N7 Arsenal Pack - Bring the firepower with the N7 Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, and Pistol.
Squad alternate appearance pack
Robotic Dog for on board the Normandy
Mass Effect 3 digital soundtrack."

And the description on Mass Effect's official website:
"A full collection of in-game content that can’t be found anywhere else!
N7 Arsenal Pack – Bring the firepower with the N7 Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, SMG, and Pistol.
Robotic Dog – A faithful sidekick to keep you company on board the Normandy.
Squadmate Alternate Outfit Pack – New appearances for your favorite squad members.
N7 Hoodie – For Commander Shepard’s casual days on board the Normandy.
Relive all the greatest moments of Mass Effect 3 with the digital soundtrack.
Xbox LIVE Normandy prop for your Avatar. (Available on Xbox 360 version only.)
Display your initiation in the N7 ranks with a collection of forum and social badges, avatars, and perks."

Basically we know we've got this "guaranteed" so far as digital content:
-Forum avatars
-Normandy Avatar prop(likely the same one given out at Comic-Con, check Youtube for some video of it)
-N7 Hoodie
-Digital Extended Soundtrack
-Robotic Dog
-N7 Arsenal Pack
-Alt Appearance Pack
-Additional Mission and Character

It said, "Additional Downloadable Mission and Character: The Prothean."  Bioware already admitted that it is a prothean squadmate. Chris Priestly claimed the idea was scrapped, which is as good as confirming it is actually in the game considering everything he says isn't true turns out to be true. He is a habitual liar afterall.

It happened with Legion. Before it became a squadmate, all the geth were hostile to organics, and a single platform had no more intelligence than a varren. It has two or three conversations about it's origins.

It wouldn't take too much time to say the prothean squad mate was in stasis somewhere on the Citadel or something. The only problem with Ilos was that it didn't have enough power to sustain so many protheans. The Citadel could easily sustain a single prothean for 50 thousand years. It obviously has enough power to sustain the keepers for that long.

I'm still reluctant on buy this collector edition.

I got the feeling that they gonna release a better one. I mean cmon, we are seeing some pretty cool CE for batman, skyrim, etc, ME3 surely deserves a 100$+ version.

It's going to be $129.95 here and no they aren't going to release a better one. That's it, the usual rubbish.

Is that a decent price for the N7 edition over in Australia, here in NZ the guestimated price is around $150 - $160 for the pc version :crying:

Kind of sounds fan fiction-ey and lazy, tbh. Especially if the Prothean fights alongside Shepard as a perma-squadmate.

No, I'm not just being a *****. What you suggested is facepalm-worthy.

Actually I got the general impression that the mission 'the prothean' and character are filed under the "Also includes" catagory because they are part of the 'project 10 dollar' day one dlc (the zaeed of me3) that would naturally be included in both (new copies of) the normal and special editions and as Origin only do the CE some EA guy working at origin must have read off a rather hefty list of the exclusives for it and naturally assumed it was part of that while s/he unwittingly ruined the suprise of a potential Prothean squaddie for everybody.

Most people assume 'The Prothean' = squadmate because most of the achievements for recruitment missions in ME2 started with a 'The...' theme e.g. 'The Justicar', 'The Quarian' or 'The Prodigal' etc.

I like the fact that the squadmate part says 'additional' and not 'exclusive'. Hopefully it will be available to everyone who buys a new copy.

I can't believe no one knows, it's so obvious. It will be a spcies that hasnt been a squad mate yet, just not prothean; everyone say hello to Riley the Raloi, the missions help you to get an alliance with the Raloi (or Hawkmen) and Riley is voiced by Brian Blessed.
