I waited for the credits to end.  I read that your character then is shown in her mansion/estate/whatever waiting for DLC or something.

There was nothing - kicked back to main screen.  I thought "resume" would put me in my estate, ready to play Legacy if I bought it.  Nope - just my last autosave before fighting Meredith.  Checked the "Load" screen - same - just the autosave and my last few manual saves.

What do I have to do (besides kill Meredith again...) to get my Hawke in her estate after the game so I can play Legacy with her? Is there a trick, or am I not going to be able to use her?

Sounds bugged.

Easy solution is to play Legacy before you face Meredith. Since Canonically the events take place before Meredith's demise anyway.

OK - but my last manual save is in Act II, and the autosave is during the last sequence, and I can't get out.

I'll just play it on my second run through.

When do you recommend doing it in the story line? It sounds like a "Hawke companion quest"

Does anyone else have this issue? It doesn't return you to the estate, but it kicks you out to main screen? I'll be upset if I can't use this Hawke for any other DLC if there are any planned...

As I recall, after the credits and you go to the main screen you Load then see Post Campaign then Save that.

if you're asking when the best time to play legacy i would recommend some time late in act 2, simply for the quality of the loot you acquire, plus i find it works well to take your sibling with you, but i won't give any spoilers

Thanks Richard - I finally beat Meridith again with my primary save and did Legacy "post game" with my prime rogue.

My secondary mage run I did it at the beginning of Act 3 - it was OK - only used the Key from my loot.

My third run, warrior, I think I might try it in Act 1 just because - even though the Key doesn't level with you.

I have a postgame save for my mage, and my 1st rogue, but not a second rogue run through. I like my post-game companions available. I thought it was due to not waiting out the lengthy credits and did it again, still no save, I really don't like reconning my finished characters, and I don't get why it stopped saving after multiple finishes. (and I want to try out a few things I picked up in the finale sequence)
