In bg2 edwin cant be a party member, he starts the quest with the harpers who want the Pc  imprisoned.

I think that's Xzar, not Edwin.

If you never played with her, why would you comment on her?

And... no Edwin Odesseiron??? I can't play BG2 without Edwin!!! LOL

Edwin most certainly is a party member in BG2, after you complete the thief stronghold quest line, and there's even a (really cute) mod to give a female PC the chance to romance him.;)

The pc version? from what I remember a harper rogue kills edwin and the PC is in trouble for spying on the them.

That's Xzar, not Edwin.

Edwin is the red wizard who's always mumbling to himself

No, it's Xzar that's killed. Edwin wants you to go in and save him, and doesn't really care that you fail.

If memory serves. It has been a few years.

[Edit]
Now I want to play BGII. D:

Duh its not Edwin who asks for help. Its Montaron
Ah! Damn! *bang head against the keyboard*
Nope its Xzar who wants you to free the caught Montaron from the harpers.
When you bring him a bird, that probably is Montaron it turns into a Harper Assassin
and kills Xzar.

And theres no question :

Viconia wins in a 1 on 1

She has 50% Magic Resistance and doesnt need Mana for her spells,

not to mention that she has much more different spells and all...

Oh, yeah! I completely forgot about Montaron. Edwin's working with the Shadow Thieves and doesn't join until he figures you're on the "winning side."

Also, Google fails.

Wow. Poor Vicki got stomped.

But Morrigan's not fair. It's a more common name (the first page of hits on google aren't even in reference to DA:O)

Malice toward the Brothers Templar is ill-advised for one who will likely call upon their blades to help roll back the Blight.  Mayhaps our commanders may restrict our duties to defending chantries and shrines instead of allowing a company or regiment to march at your side.  On that fateful battlefield standing before the Archdemon and its retinue of emmissaries, you'll sorely miss our ability to quash their foul magics.

Think twice before casting aspersions upon my bretheren, Warden.

Definitely agree with that :P but I sense a lot of catfights incoming between my female PC(s) and Miss Morrigan...

As I haven't played the game I can't answer that question. Viconia will take a lot to top though.

Viconia - you just felt more capable to deal with the rigors of adventuring after you had preformed the "morning-coupling" with her..

What a classy lady.

Viconia. The ending was brilliant and sad as well for her and your PC. /sniffle.

Only downside was Keldorn having an argument and ripping her to shreds with Carsymyr (spelling?) so I had to do his quest and let him go with his wife /cries.

I never much liked Viconia's tin-coloured Barby doll look. And I never got to know her really.

Well seeing how none of us have experienced what Morrigan has to offer, isn't it a bit much to make any kind of comparison such as this?

Dude, edwin was the second funniest character next to minsc.

Not to mention the most powerful mage you could have on your team.

Agreed.  Edwin made me laugh harder than minsc, but less frequently.  He was quality over quanity.  Tho Edwin catered to my sense of humor.

In response to the OP...  I am gonna say Viconia, but that is up in the air till i get more morrigan exposure.

I surely hope Morrigan will be a more likeable character than Viconia. The only reason I ever took the drow with me was lack of an evil lass for my one and only corrupted to the core male bhaalspawn. And she ended up dead by his hand near the very end of Shadows of Amn. Just because it fitted his character.

Morrigan has the potential to be evil not for the sake of cousing misery around her, but for actual power Viconia could never grasp. maybe she won't insult people that could be her greatest benefactors.

But time will tell who will I find "better" if any of them at all ;)

That being said... Angel from WC2 > Viconia.  :D
