I was so excited b/c WC3 was in FMV and the actress they'd cast was stupid hot. And... yeah...

I still say advertising her was false advertisement.

Edit: I totally killed Thrakhath AND got back to the Victory before it jumped.

Heh.  Actually, Keldorn pretty much whupped her scrawny behind when she gave him a little too much lip in one of those random banters that crop up every now and again.

My PC ate popcorn and watched.

Popcorn. <3

Never much liked the whole "bad girl" thing.

on another note: I never played another WC after WC3 (unless you count Privateer 2)

on topic: Morrigan. Never really liked Viconia. That and Morrigan's voiced by Claudia Black (I reiterate: someone please mod in a PK pulse rifle  )

Well seeing how none of us have experienced what Morrigan has to offer, isn't it a bit much to make any kind of comparison such as this?

No.

Also Viconia > Morrigan.

I don't think Morrigan will top Viconia...but we'll see.

Viconia: Jan. While I would be tempted to let this situation play itself out, perhaps it is best if I warn you now.

Jan: Yeeeessss, my dusky little margarita? What warning would that be?

Viconia: You have a venomous spider on your neck. A lovely creature, known to cause an agonizing, blood-curdling death within moments of injecting its nerve poison.

Jan: You know, this reminds me of the time Uncle Scratchy laid me flat with the handle of a horseman’s flail. ‘Look behind you!’, he says. ‘Why? What’s behind me?’, I say. ‘A Tiberian Dung Beetle!’, he cries, looking frantic. So of course I scream in terror and look behind me ... and lost a bag of the most scrumptuous turnips to ever come out of Scornubel. Ma Jansen was furious and the lump was more painful than six weeks with the calimshite Itch.

Viconia: Oh, look. There it goes down the back of your shirt.

Jan: And then there was that time I took a drow at his word. ‘Bifflechips’, says I, ‘you had better be telling the truth.’ And, of course, he swore up and down that he was. Needless to say, not four weeks later I was stewing in the lower intestines of a giant cave wyrm without even so much as a torch or a sense of irony. I would have been a goner if gnomes weren’t known for causing severe bouts of intestinal gas.

Viconia: I wouldn’t squirm about so much, you foolish jaluk. You’re likely to anger it, and I have no spells to counteract its particular poison.

Jan: Now, if I had a copper for every time - eh, wait a second. I feel something ... who’s behind me? What *is* that back there?

Viconia: Did I not try to tell you? No doubt it is sinking its fangs into your gamey flesh as we speak.

Jan: What? But I -ouch! AHHHH! AHHHH, NOOO! I’M TOO YOUNG A GNOME TO DIE!! HELP ME, SOMEONE! AN ANTIDOTE, AN ANTIDOTE!! PAIN GIVES ME GAS! AHHHH!! I DON’T WANT TO - eh? Wait a minute, that’s a fly. A dead fly. You mean I ripped off my own shirt for nothing?

Viconia: Ha ha! Sometimes life has its little rewards. Even for the drow.

Jan: You’re a cruel, cruel woman, Viconia. Garl help me, but I am so turned on right now.

Viconia: Alright, now I’m leaving.

Viconia is a character :) Unfortunately she is not in DA:O. We shall see if Morrigan measures up. I believe the potential is there.

If I HAD to put morrigan into contest with viconia, viconia would win. so I simply refuse to do that, because i intend to enjoy morrigan to the fullest :)

I mean, come on. Morrigan is a sarcastic witty emo...

Viconia is a genuinely funny murderous psychopath

I plan to be as Viconia-ish in one of my Dragon Age playthroughts as possible.

She's my one and only (BioWare female NPC) love.

That said, I like Morrigan but she's not really worthy of being compared to Vic.

If any of the characters have even half the wit of some of the Baldur's Gate cast, I will be extremely happy. Viconia, as a character, was wonderfully alive. I hope Morrigan captures some of that, too.

If you never played with her, why would you comment on her?

And... no Edwin Odesseiron??? I can't play BG2 without Edwin!!! LOL

In bg2 edwin cant be a party member, he starts the quest with the harpers who want the Pc  imprisoned. As for Viconia , its clear that I've have grouped with her, you didnt understand the shara comment?

Edwin most certainly is a party member in BG2, after you complete the thief stronghold quest line, and there's even a (really cute) mod to give a female PC the chance to romance him.;)

I believe they are mixed up with the totally awesome and completely misunderstood Xzar and Monteron. I love those crazy Zents.

Viconia was awesome i'm not sure whos character i will prefer though. I think Morrigan has more attitude than Ms De Vir.

You just can't beat Viconia. And I'm not just saying that because she's an elf.

Yeah. I was always disheartened that none of my truly favourite companions made it into BG2. Xan, Xzar, Garrik, Eldoth Kron, Kivan, Yeslick, Coran & Kagain. Apart from Viconia & Edwin, pretty much only characters I hated made it over to BG2.

Edit: Godammit, I was going to make this an edit. I guess I got confused. Sorry.

Thanks Kakimori for reminding me of one of my favorite conversations from BG2. I think in addendum to the initial topic of can Morrigan surpass Viconia, I think we all need to ask ourselves, does anyone in Dragon Age even attempt to approach Jan's level of amazingness?

GAH! Jan makes me facepalm. Worse yet, he's the only thief that doesn't die. Thank goodness there are plenty of thief skill boosting items for Imoen. Edwin FTW!!!

I always played through BGII as a Paladin\\Cavalier. Viconia was always my first choice of romance because I like to be badarse good guy who can tame a wild filly like Viconia.

I'll probably do the same thing with Morrigan in DA:O in (according to Steam) 2 days and 3 hours (more like 2.5 hours).

As someone said, these two should not be matched against each other, as it would be mostly counterproductive ;)

This is impossible for me to call for obvious reasons. That said, I was not a great fan of Viconia. I once trudged through as a male character to experience the romance, and did find it the most interesting. Understanding Viconia's psychology and how to respond to her comments wasn't obvious to me; unlike Anomen, Aerie, or Jahiera that were so straightforward I could navigate their dialogue without paying close attention.

However, I never completed Throne of Bhaal in that game. In my far more common female bhaalspawn playthroughs I rarely brought Viconia along. She just didn't give me warm fuzzies like Mazzy, lacked any interesting side quests, and was generally a (oooh I'm evil!) wet blanket. Her banter was amusing at times though, as illustrated earlier in this thread.

Viconia is one of those NPCs I wanted to like but could never get into, despite frequently completing BG1 with her in my group. She is one of the few characters I never completed ToB with. I even made it through with Cernd and Nalia, which is pretty sad considering how unpopular they are. =P (I liked them as characters though.)

As it stands, Morrigan will probably rank higher with me, but only time will tell.
