I am trying to complete the UNC: Hostile Takeover assignment. However the crimelord hideout on the Han system is not available. I can land on the planet and arrive at the building but there are no enemies and the building can not be entered. The other crimelord worked as normal. This is a repeatable bug. I have landed on the planet three times trying to complete the mission. I am using the Steam copy of the game. I meet the minimum specs for the game.
I ran a Google search "mass effect hostile takeover cannot access crimeboss" without being able to find anything useful. I tryed other search combinations as well without luck. I contacted EA chat support who directed me here. Chat id#1051855
Please advise.
This is the second assignment I have been unable to complete (the other is "Feros: Geth in the Tunnels" which never detected that the Geth and transmitter were destroyed, I also went through that area more than once to confirm bug was repeatable).
I am most interested in knowing if there is a workaround or a bug fix in the works that would allow me to continue from where I am at. I do not plan to play this game again as that would require too much time.
Unable to enter crimelord building UNC: Hostile Takeover assignment.

Processor / Core count / Core Speed / Main RAM Amount - Athlon X2 2.9 GHz 2GB RAM
b. Display Adapter / VRAM / Driver Version (just saying "latest drivers" doesn't help -- Edited: only ATI / nVIDIA cards are supported) - nVidia GeForce 9400 GT driver version 6.14.12.7533
c. Sound Adapter / Driver Version - Realtek? Motherboard sound
d. Operating System (& service pack if applicable) - XP SP3 - Microsoft reports no pending updates.

At a rough guess, I would say either your save game is bugged, or you have a corrupt file.
Try verifying your Steam cache integrity.
What is the driver version as listed by Nvidia. It should be a number listed in the hundreds, not a single figure.

Driver version according to nVIDIA control panel is 275.33
DirectX version 9.0
Steam validated the files. I am not sure if it would tell me if they were bad or if it would just fix them.
I still have the original save, but I also chose to continue the game and am now on Virmire where I talked to Sovereign and then went back to the genophage labs. Now I appear to be unable to get back as the path has been raised. Luckily I have a save prior to this.

I think I can make it through the game. I will just do that. Luckily this problem was with a side mission. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment Bogsnot1.
