Samara's armor was fine, if only it had a zipper...
Her ****** are the source of her power.
Okay, just kidding. Her duds weren't exactly combat-practical, but really, with DEM BIOTICS, she could run around naked and come out unscathed. And frankly, I'm not going to tell her to cover herself up. It might be hazardous to my health. Besides, it would feel sort of disrespectful to do so.
As for Ash, compare what Tela Vasir, another female Spectre wears. Or Kaidan's. Ash's outfit simply doesn't compare. It just doesn't look like something you'd wear into combat. More like something you'd wear under the armor. It's not a catsuit, but it's closer to "tinfoil miniskirt and thigh high boots" than I'd like.
That's what I said: it looks like it would hook up to armor. By itself, no, not ideal combat gear, but it does seem like Serious Business. As in not strictly eye candy.
Agreed on all counts [smiley]
Damn skippy.
Why am I suddenly recalling the Firefly episide where Jayne got a hat from his mother, and Wash comments "You see a man walking down the street wearing something like that, you know he's not afraid of anyone"... [smiley]
Because it is too awesome not to recall.
Casey Hudson tweeted that she'll get armor and a helmet. How much truth there is to that remains to be seen...
Here's hoping, bro. It already looks like James Vega has both a casual and combat outfit, so it's not too much of a stretch.
But wait... does this mean casual wear for Garrus? Maybe something that doesn't look like lime green pajamas? Huzzah!
There were several characters in my ME2 playthroughs who did not see the light of day outside their loyalty missions. Thane was one of them. Jacob another (he really needed more ceramic plates) Miranda too, pre AAP. Basically if I wanted a biotic on my team I had to use a textmod Samara.
See, what I did was play most of the game with squadmates I initially didn't like to see if my opinion of them would change. Now I know that Thane and Liara awesomely destructive, Kaidan and Miranda are insanely useful, Jack, Zaeed, and Grunt have some of the best in-mission commentary, and Ashley is my new brosephine. And Jacob ain't too shabby, either. In fact, he is worthy of the Bro Squad.
Granted, a few of them look like idiots running around in tights, but I'm not going to let my preconcieved notions taint my gaming experience. "X does not look like a professional" does not mean "X is not a professional."
Ash is my litmus test for ME3. If they do well by her, I'll take it as a good sign that they're taking the game and the universe seriously, and this isn't just a money grab. That means functional-looking armor. Hair that looks practical, not just an excuse to go "look what we can do with hair now!" and so on.
See, I'm a sap for fancy-looking science-fiction gear, but I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to character analysis. It's Ash's behavior that I'll be keeping a close eye on. If the writers decided to tone down her somewhat abrasive attitude and make her more "feminine" because the old Ashley wasn't resonating correctly with the Average Gamer, f*ck it, I'm playing Portal.
