Well seeing as the scenes in ME weren't even close to as bad as some scenes in other video games I've seen, I think it should be more explicit than the stuff in ME2. Bust still classy like ME1.

I mean really. Explain to me how this is worse than this (blurred on nude spots to be allowed on youtube).

I wish you could not have sex with them without being like "GTFO."

ME1 romance scenes were tasteful and conveyed the intimacy in a classy way. ME2 romance scenes seemed castrated in comparison...

Basically, the ME1 scenes were just fine. Nothing more and nothing less is needed.

ME3 romances should be as hardcore as you can get with an M rating.

We all know 99% of us aren't going through the whole romance dialog choices just for the flirting.

TW2 love scenes are ****ing embarrassing. "The Witcher 2 is way more mature becuz it shows boobies! So mature!"

Mass Effect 1 did it right. Mass Effect 2 on the other hand had way too much dry humping. A mix between the two would be nice. ME1's style with ME2's different scenes for each character.

I would like ME1's tasteful sex scenes. It portrays the right amount of intimacy. Though I would also like ME2's personalized scenes for each. So a mix of both.

I'm sorry but I can't help but post this, it makes me roar with laughter but it's sad that it's actually pretty true.

I can't see why it would be a problem to show flesh! Other games do it without anyone died wathcing it so come on! It's cartoons for fraks sake, the game is rated M, all who plays it (even if they are too young to play it) has seen way worse things in commercials etc.

It's just sex, what makes the human race survive, and it's not like we buy the game for that half second flash of sideboob/nipple/buttocks etc.

Grow up, ignore FOX and strip Ash/Miranda/Jack/Tali etc

They don't want to rock the boat. Even the remotest possibility of another FOX "scandal" is probably interpreted as detrimental to sales and the design committee won't abide that in the slightest. Therefore sex will happen with the lights on, and fully clothed. You know, just like how it is in real life.

If anyone buy/don't buy games depending on what FOX says, should reevaluate their lives ;)

I'm from Europe, Denmark to be precise, where we expect people above the age of 12 to know about the shepard bees and Garrus flowers - we expect they can handle the truth (insert Tom Cruise and Jack Nichelson voices)

John Stewart made a funny note about the rules of video games design when it comes to nudity vs violence, huge fun!

I remember hearing a tweet from one of the developers that the Mass Effect 3 Love scenes would be more "pants appropriate".

wut does that mean?

Hm:

jackelbeaver:

@CaseyDHudson speaking of romances, it bugged me that you have "pants on" scenes in me2, but they seem more like "pants off" scenes (weird?)

@CaseyDHudson:

@jackelbeaver #ME3 will be more pants-appropriate.

I think it might mean....another Fox News piece?

I think it probably means the exact opposite. In ME2 the romance scenes featured dressed characters behaving as if they were nude -reading Casey's response in ME3 the characters will still be dressed but not behave like they are nude...so, indeed as everyone suspected, the romance scenes will, once again, be even more tame.

How disappointing.

I do think, however, that many in this thread are overestimating the influence of fox"news" on this trend. If anything it might have been a catalyst for BW to start getting more and more political correct in their romance scenes, but I'm sure BW doesn't feel "forced" to do so by fear of another bs foxnews piece.

I just think BW doesn't consider those scenes to be worth the trouble.

*sighs nostalgically*  Ahhhhh, I remember when I was 19 lol.  Couple years out of high school, would be getting my hernia operation done in a year and then off to the army...Those were the days.  I miss being 19 sometimes, but not any of the other crap that happened after that lol.

I wonder if Casey's comment could imply multiple scenes throughout the game? There may be romantic moments that don't require getting undressed.

- By multiple scenes, I meant the same LI and playthrough. Including a much more intimate one like the one in ME1, maybe even taken a bit further.

Yeah political correct sex and gay scenes go hand in hand. Over the years I've played many games and often the most romantic scenes don't involve sex at all. Bioware added their sex scenes and at the time of ME1 they brought it as far as the could at the time.

I want ME1 sex scenes. I do not want ME2/DA2 dry humping through clothes.

But that's so much more realistic, mature, and high-brow than people having sex naked!

I don't play sci-fi/fantasy games for realism! That's just silly! :mellow:

I kno people hate hearing it, but is it possible EA's involvement would lead to more "appropriate" love scenes? I mean, it's like the difference between an obscure independent film company making a book into a movie and Warner Bros. doing it. These large companies have to protect their image while the little guy is trying to make a name itself.
