Okay so I got a .tga texture I made in photoshop. How do I get this useable as a paintable texture in the level editor? I know you use file>new matterial, but it is not very easy to understand. And the wiki tutorial is limited, does not tell you where to save it. Any help?

okay I got almost everyting figured out but my textures a very big. Do they need a certain size/resolution? I doubled the size and didn't change anything and doubled the ppi (pixels per inch) and still images are huge. Any help?

I imagine all textures are going to have to be sized in powers of two. Ex: 2x2, 128x128, 256x512, 1024x1024. Resolution, unless its changed, should be 72ppi.

Resolution and ppi are not the same. PPI or points per inch has to do with printing quality, resolution is the actual dimensions of an image in pixels. You can change one without affecting the other. In the context the OP is using, size and resolution mean the same thing.
