Even still, you would need ancestral Eve.

Thing is.... ME derives from the theory of evolution (to my dismay), thus God doesn't exist and all that garbage.

lol, I'm not talking about 'Eve' as in biblical eve, I'm talking about biological eve. As in, as far back as we can get in terms of evolution as possible. Like, tracking our evolution from Lemur's (which I think we have descended from) down past chimpanzee's to Neanderthals and so on.

Unless you already knew what I was talking about and was just being witty. Maybe I am stupid after all! :(

I thought midichlorines (note; actual midichlorines, and not Mr. Lucas midichlorines) did actually track the permutations of genetic diversity? I'm not a geneticist either!

siari Asari are Jedis?

But pretty much, Ancestal Eve/Adam is required as a baseline for comparison.

Otherwise, why else would EDI's analysis apparently require the comparison of Prothean Quad Strand to come to the conclusion she did?

For those confused about what is meant by "Eve"":

Mitochondrial Eve

whose counterpart is:

Y-chromosomal Adam

Um, the theory of evolution has nothing to say one way or the other about the existence of Yahweh, or Odin, or Brahma, or Zeus, or Amaterasu, or Enki, or [insert random deity of choice here].  It's an explanation of the diversity and history of life.  That's all.

Oh my god.

Mitochondria. The word you're looking for is mitochondria. And please don't invoke mitochondria and George Lucas's total science-rape of midochlorians (or whatever) together in the same sentence.

Did you just respond to my statement with a dilemma? All Im saying is that I believe in God (everyone else is wrong btw) and the fact that new life comes around every 50,000 years proves that evolution exists in the ME universe.

I noticed the other day in my Theodicy in the Hebrew Bible class that Genesis has at least one potential metaphor for evolution...

I was excited.

Genesis 1: 11-12 and 20-25

Admittedly one must draw on the notion of the Hebrew wet and dry chaos which isn't so farfetched considering it's the Hebrew Bible. Anyway, enough off-topicness.

Sometimes in Sci-Fi it would appear that things just are, maybe Charon being encased in ice is one of those cases, a plot element that is what it is just because it is. A deconstruction of that principle can lead to cynical claims of deus ex machina, perhaps a simple explanation later lets us reasses Charon's apparent deus ex machina status as a red herring that is only so because we went out of our way in examining something that just is.

Mass Effect is rife with mysteries that may never be explained; a la Leviathian of Dis, a suspected Jupiter Brain, Beings of Light and Machine Devils etc.

They're all references to other works of science fiction the writers were inspired by. That's your explanation.

No, I responded to what I perceived to be a false dichotomy implied by your statement:  If {Evolution} then {No God For You!}  and vice-versa.

Oh, I don't usually check that forum. Interesting theory indeed.

I wonder what we'll get in ME3, related to that chamber.

If you think God and the theory of evolution are mutually exclusive, then you have a very narrow-minded view of God and/or higher powers in general.
