Been playing Serious Sam co-op with some friends, also slowly working my way through Arkham Asylum. Stoked as **** for Deus Ex Human Revolution unlocking tonight, since I'm not working tomorrow.

Lucky. I have to wait until the 25th to get the game unlocked for me, plus this is the first game I'm not going to spoil for myself, and I like doing that! I don't think I can hold it much longer since TheMediaCows already have a walkthough up.

I somehow managed to ignore just about every advertisement and marketing for this game. I literally know next to nothing about the story. Pretty much all I know is whatever was posted to the FAQ on the website. I do know the leaked playable version generated quite a positive buzz, and that was enough to sell me on the game. The original Deus Ex is my all-time favorite game ever.

I'm a MAD battletech fan. Have you looked at MegaMech? It has no single player component, but it's a great way to play BT. Better even than on a gameboard (fog-of-war!).

Another personal favorite of mine is MechComander 2. MS relaesed (most of) the source code some years ago so you can get the single player versions for free.

Since that release a number of Modders have started working on even better versions. One promising version is Magic's OmniTech. Omnitech is a complete rebuild, with new salvage and equipment purchasing rules and a significant graphcs upgrade but it's a REALLY new project, and still pretty much a one man band, so it's still kind of buggy. An older more stable version is Wolfman's MC2X. Wolfman isn't taking the system apart the same way Magic is. MC2X is really just an expansion pack of sorts with new mechs, vehicles, and placables so the platform is a pretty much finished product. Unfortunately wolfman's campaigns are all calibrated to be exceedingly difficult; one might say nearly impossible. It's certainly no way to be introduced to MC2. I'd recommend using the original campaign built into the source code release first (the Carver V campaign) then graduate to an MC2X varient created by a different modder called Rebirth of White Company before trying to tackle any of Wolfman's campaigns.

Oh... and did I mention? All these versions include mission/campaign editors...

Edit: My bad! Mechtech now has AI. It CAN be played Single Player now.
