Hello guys; perhaps this has already been brought up before; if so I apologize.  But several days ago,
a problem started with my game that I can't explain.  Many areas, I will be attacked by friendlies.  This
occurs across ALL modules (including the one I am working on, and those of others.)  It appears to occur
to factions that are created in the faction editor, however, rather than to standards.  So some nps are still friendly, whereas those with a created faction are not.  Again, it occurs in modules not of my making as well.  Opening the toolset, the factions appear to be fine (both in title and numerical settings), but when loading into the game, they attack. My character also sometimes has unusual buffs applied on loading in.  I have noticed a few missing texture problems, too.   I reinstalled the game from scratch and the problem still persists, and I'm at a loss.  I haven't changed any hardware (or drivers, or anything that I'm aware of). Again, it just began several days ago.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Angra

Just as a test, try doing a clean player folder.

ie rename your neverwinter nights 2 folder inside my documents to something else. ( thus keeping it safe )

Then start the game and see if the issue happens in the OC. This creates a new nwn2 folder in my docs. You can just delete this when done, and rename the original folder back the way it was.

It's a faction issue, which makes me think you added some override content you are not noticing. Might be inside a hak or module. But this should determine if its in your player folder. ( really hoping you never touch your nwn2 folder inside program files )

I will try that, though I'm skeptical it will help. When exactly the problem began, I'm not sure. The reason being, is about five days ago, I switched over to work on another module, testing creature builds, in which everything in the module was hostile. I decided to play Battle of the Builds a little today (Elysius' game on the vaults), and when I logged in the arena master attacked me. I reinstalled that module, and the same occurred. Also, while making a character, one of the 'head' settings was missing a texture. Anyway, I loaded the module I'm making, and the entry conversation went fine--and then I entered another area, and was summarily attacked. When I examined the Arena Master from Battle of the Builds, he has a unique faction; and the creatures (which should be friendly) in my game have a unique faction. I cleared out my entire override folder, tried again, the same. After that I backed all pertinent files I needed from my module, and completely uninstalled NWN2 from my computer, and freshly installed and patched it. (which cleared out all the files on the mydoc side too). Same problem. Occasional missing textures, and only those factions which have been custom made attacking, even though in the toolset the factions and their settings seem to be intact. If complete installation doesn't fix it, I have to believe there's something like a driver or somesuch conflict? (I'm asking, I'm a computer ******). I've made no changes to my system that I'm aware of, unless it could have occurred in a restart update of some kind. I'll ramble more after I try your suggestion just to make sure.

It's been resolved. Thank you for your help; it turns out you were exactly right, and I had left something in my override (thought I checked that, but apparently not). Thanks again.
