So i have just beaten the Arishok and my damage output was fine. Upon entering the latter content i found myself not dealing near as much damage as i was and also most of spells effectiveness has come to a near stand-still. There is obviously something that i have did wrong...any suggestions?

....haaave you got a good staff equipped? enough magic pumped? using elemental weaknesses?

Enemies scale with you. Unique items for the most part don't. This means that your damage should be increasing at the similar rate to their increases in hp/armour/resistance unless you're neglecting to increase your base damage (via magic and better staves).

It could be that you had a high levelled staff that now is no longer as overpowered. Or maybe you are comparing damage between elemental weaknesses (e.g. cold and nature deal double damage vs arishok) and non-elemental weaknesses.

If you list your build (attributes) and your current gear I suppose we can tell you if there's a reason why you're not dealing as much damage as you could be.

Thanks for the response but i think i may have figured it out. I am a blood mage as you know and i had some of the new champion gear equipped....when i looked at it i noticed that it really doesnt give good bonuses for a blood mage i.e mana and mana regen so i downloaded the emporium and bought some of their new gear and i seem to be wrecking again =) thanks and yeah some of my gear is outdated i just have bad luck finding new pieces it is usually all in the stores like the black emporium and there are a few other pieces i need if i can just acquire the gold =/

im using the staff that levels with you, ive heard its good idk if there is better if so tell me plz

Well.. if you're not playing on nightmare you won't have to worry about elemental immunities so either malcolm's honour, hawke's key (legacy), torch of fal'odin or the final thought (black emporium) will do the trick.
It'll depend also on what spells you mainly use/what +% elemental equipment you wear.

But it sounds like you figured it out. Well have fun 'wrecking' enemies haha

where do you get hawkes key?

if you play the latest dlc (legacy) you'll get it. It doesn't level up with you though so you'll be best off playing legacy at a later level if you intend to use it late-game.
