I am hoping to get some information as to how this achievement is unlocked.  I have completed the game multiple times and unlocked and visited every location on multiple playthroughs.  What exactly do you need to do to unlock this achievment?

There are a few sites out there with suggestions, however none of these seem to do the trick.  Is this related to the percentage stats in the codex?

Thanks in advance.

You must access every location on the map INCLUDING the ones that open when you perform quests for all the quest giving organizations, Blackstone Irregulars, Mages Guild, Rogue Quests (in the tavern at Denerim), Crow Quests (in the tavern in Denerim), Chantry Boards, etc.. etc.. Some of their quests open up spots on the map that do count towards the achievement. Also you recieve a final percentage at the last battle sequence of the game (obviously the location of the archdemon).

If you do all the quests possible, visit every place at least once, (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE DLC AREAS) and visit the quest opened locations, you should get the achievement :) I got it on my first playthrough.

I am aware of the additional quests and are are complete, so either there is some other factor involved in this achievement or it is glitched. My final stats were 96% game completion and 92% world explored.

I'm seeing a similar issue, final stats were 95 percent of the world explored and all locations from a list from Xbox360 forums were visited, but no achievement. Same problem with all but one of the DLC achievements as well

96% of the world explored for me.. and I got it as I resumed the last auto save after the game ended.. You then end up on a little road that only allows you to go back to camp..

It's so you can start up any new expansions or DLC with your old saved character.

Yeah, tried that, no luck. So between that and the DLC bugged achievements, I guess I'm stuck at 990/1100 until there's a fix.

Not what I call a big deal, but it's like getting a scratch on your monitor. Doesn't stop you from using it, but it's always there, taunting you.

Yeah, I'm a bit stuck on this too.

I've seen a few of the lists of places.

I've checked them all about 3 times minimum, visited everywhere that every list suggested.

Nothing.

(Everywhere meaning everywhere I could find. I took all the extra quests I could aswell).

Seems like you would have to play one playthrough in a very specific way to get absolutely all the areas. Weird that this wasn't an across all playthroughs achievement. Maybe it is but they don't say it in the description. I've also checked several lists and can't find any areas that I'm missing but I still end up with 94% at the end.

I got it on my first play through with only 91%. I did visit every area, I just didn't fill out every map completely.

I've been having a problem with this too, but I assumed it was because I didn't have the Warden's Keep dlc.

I remember when i got it, i ended having to enter one of the Houses twice for some reason to Register a % point for me, It's the house that is next to the Scary orphanage house, sometimes it will give you a % right away but sometimes you have to Re-enter the house again for it to show up.

I made a 5th playthrough specifically for this achievement with no luck last night. New character - elf rogue, entered every building multiple times, hit every quest that provides a map marker and ended up at 78% world traveled prior to landsmeet and 94% at endgame. Made a save prior to landsmeet and will make one last run through every building, but I'm assuming this is a programming error. So I'm stuck at 1065/1100 until they fix this.

Yeah CSAR, that sounds about how mine went. My final stats were 98 percent game, 95 world following the credits. I tried reloading my gamer tag but not only did that NOT help with this achievement, it invalidated all but one of the DLC achievements I had gotten. So. Gr.

Still no resolution - here's the transcript of my conversation with EA tech support:

Rick: Hi, my name is Rick. How may I help you?

Me : Hello Rick - I'm having problems with the Traveler achievement on the 360.

Rick: What problem are you facing?

Me : I have 94% of the world explored at the end, but I have entered every building and every area on the map. Is there some other factor that this achievement depends on?

Rick: You have reached technical support; we have no gameplay information that we can offer to assist you. Although many of our games are very technical in nature or difficult to play, the issue you are encountering is not with the game.

Rick: You can check our message boards for help and assistance. You can find the message boards at the below given link :-

http://social.bioware.com/forum/

Me : Correct, however this issue is in regards to the technical nature of achievements unlocking. This is not a gameplay issue.

Rick: I need to escalate your issue to our senior support for further investigation.

Me : Thank you, should I stay in chat?

Rick: You will be contacted through email

Rick: Is there anything further I may assist you with today?

Me : Nothing else. Thanks and have a great day.

Haha, looks like a great help there.

I just e-mailed them though.

Hopefully they will send me the specific requirements of where you need to go.

Still waiting on a response. Two of my friends were able to get this to unlock over the weekend without hitting several of the sidequests.

Well whatever you were missing before you probably keep on missing so playing multiple times won't help unless you find out what areas you aren't accessing. The achievement works fine I unlocked it on my first playthrough by simply doing every sidequest and hunting every secret I caught the smell of. Some areas on the map require special conditions like taking a certain quest(and there are chain quests) and so on....I'm sure you think you have been everywhere but that doesn't make it true. Then some quests only become available later in the game.....like after the landsmeet....like the Denerim stealing/break-in quests and yes one of those sends you to a new area. You can play through the game 100 times and not get the achievement if you're stubborn that you did everything and there's nothing else. You'll just have to try harder next time.

I don't know I've been trying to get the achievment too and I've beaten the game 3X going on 4 here

This time I've done more areas and I'm at 90% of world explored at fort drakon , since the human noble origin location counts as 5% and the dalish elf origin may count as a % too , I'm hoping to finally get it when I go up to fight the dragon

I tried doing every quest there was untill there was basically no quests left to do , I traveled to extra areas for the chantry , for the rogues , for the crows , for the blackstone irregulars , not sure if the mage collective had an extra area but I sure hope not

Well I'm at 90% and inside the castle before the final boss , if 91% did it for you then I should get it as soon as I walk onto the roof hopefully

I understand that, however please explain why some are getting the achievement having completed very few sidequests and areas, while others are hitting every sidequest, location, and hitting every area within a map?

This is not a matter of trying harder. It is a matter of the game not tracking the locations where your character has been.  I'm 98% game complete and 94% world traveled upon game completion.

All areas explored, all houses & shops entered, all chanter's board, merc, mage, Slim's, thief, crows, and alienage quests completed.

It probably has something to do with whatever character your playing also.. like I stated before I didn't get the achievement until I loaded from the very last auto save after the end game. I played a Dalish Elf rogue and ended on 96% ...

Just wondering.. did everyone who didn't get the achievement fight Gaxkang from the unbound quest? Takes place in a house in a dirty back alley... Seems like it could be an easy area to miss is why I ask.

Question : Has anyone ever gotten the achievement while entering an area BESIDES the final battle?

I think its nessicary that we all know if thats ever happened or not because it would then prove if it means across all playthroughs or in one playthrough

So far everyone reports that it pops once you enter the rooftop for the final battle and it definitely applies to a single playthrough. People have reported world traveled % from 75% to 96%, so while it may appear to be a factor the game seems to be tracking something else.
