jilesr77 - Don't feel bad - took me awhile to figure out how people were tracking % game completed/World Traveled.

Rathalin - The issue is that several people have completed the game under the same circumstances and have reported varying results regarding this achievement.

Also obnoxious: Warden's Keep DLC content achievements did not trigger for me. The blip popped up, and I have the pics in my list, but the points did not register nor did they count towards the 54 total. When my friends look at it they always tell me that the ach. are missing. I would like to think there will be a fix, but a friend of mine had a similar problem in fallout 3 and bethesda never fixed that.

XBox 360 Version of the game

I need help with the traveler achievement. I completed my third playthrough and still not unlocked. First playthrough was with a human noble. Second playthrough with a mage. Third playthrough with a rogue, dalish elf, made the complete "antivan crow quest", the complete "slim couldry - crime wave" quest. Visited every place and still not unlocked.

I have read many posts that many player just unlocked this achievement on their first playthrough. I have the english collectors edition and all available DLC's. Is that the problem? Has it something to do with the DLC?

@Bioware

Can you please add some input about how to unlock this achievement?

Here's another one with this problem. I've been trying to get this for three playthroughs and I'm pretty sure I've been in every area. Result in my latest one: 97% of the world explored, no Traveller achievement.

This is not a bug.  The Travelers achievement works.  It's not tied to percentage.  You don't need DLC to get it.  If you're not getting the achievement you're missing one or more locations on the list.

**SPOILERS**

The locations are:

arl120ar_blacksmith
arl130ar_dwyns_home
arl140ar_kaitlyn_home
arl141ar_kaitlyn_upstairs
arl150ar_tavern
arl170ar_general_store

den100ar_brothel
den220ar_noble_tavern
den230ar_wonders_of_thedas
den260ar_warden_cache
den280ar_smithy
den950ar_alley_justice_1
den951ar_alley_justice_2
den952ar_alley_justice_3
den960ar_orphanage

lot120ar_danes_refuge

urn120ar_village_house
urn130ar_village_shop

orz220ar_shop
orz260ar_proving
orz310ar_shaperate
orz420ar_shop

cli220ar_fort_roof_1

The places most people seem to be missing are the second shop in Orzammar and the Wardens Cache in Denerim.

Hope this helps.

^^ This list must be wrong. It I have visited all these locations and got nothing. BTW, when I open the toolset and browse the available areas, there is no area named "orz310ar....".

In my case, the missing area is probably the Orzammar chantry. But that list must be a leftover or a fake. How did you get it?

The list was pulled out of the toolset areadata.xls by MatthewYoung CT in this thread:  http://social.biowar.../index/415360/1  I believe this to be the correct list of locations.

I got the achievement on my first playthrough and can verify that I went to all those locations.  The only place that's not on the list (that I thought for sure would be on there) that might count would be the chantry in Orzammar.

I certainly don't think it's fake.  If you've got the toolset you should be able to take a peek at it for yourself.  That the list must be wrong, fake or a leftover seems a hasty conclusion.

Over 1 month and still no response from EA or Bioware. Wonderful.

Thanks for posting that list Elder Weasel - unfortunately I have hit every location on there and still no joy. Seems to be a failure to recognize that my character has entered the key locations.

I just finished my second very thorough play through and I too have not been able to unlock this achievement. Like many of the posters here, I have been to every location on the list provided by Elder Weasel above, and I have done every side quest I possibly can. Easily Sidetracked achievement unlocked my first play through, and on my second play through I did all the side quests I did the first time around (all Chantry, Blackstone, Favors, Collective, and Crow missions) plus Slim Cauldry and Gaxkang. I didn't get arrested first time around, so made sure I surrendered to Cauthrien and got sent to Fort Drakon this time. [shrug] I'm not one who feels they absolutely *have* to unlock every single achievement, but it's disheartening that this one, which should be fairly easy to get, is so obviously bugged.

This one isn't bugged, it took me 5 tries but I finally got it. I've been experimenting on my son's account doing stuff totally different and I managed to get it on there first try too. I'm currently trying something different again on my other son's account. My guess so far is this:

1) It is tied to your choices you make throughout the game. If an area isn't available, then it won't count towards your achievement.
OR
2) Any area that pops up a "Area Unlocked" notice must be hit along with any connected zones (houses, shops, etc).

Here is a walkthrough of areas I kept on my first time successfully getting this achievement. http://docs.google.c...2vh_104dzvtchd6 for anyone who wants to definitely get it with a new character.

The second time I got it I did a ton of opposite decisions and it still poped up, so that's how I came up with 1 and 2 above. I guess I'll know more on my 3rd try soon. I plan on skipping about all the side-quests and seeing if it still comes up.

I think the percentage number that everyone is talking about actually
applies to "uncovering" the maps when you're in the area - making all
of each area known. You'll notice that when you go to a new place, the
map is all black except for quest waypoints and as you explore the map,
the black is removed to give you layout.

That's the only thing that makes sense as people are reporting
receiving the achievement at 70-80% while others are not getting it at
90+%.

i got this last night on my 2nd playthrogh, all that iv read as more or less been said on how to get this, but as for certain people getting the achievement at different percentages i find that weird and maby like said it is slightly bugged, on my first game, i had 93 percent world traveled and did not get the achievement, but on my 2nd, by the time i was just about to go up stairs to the roof of fort drakon i had 95 percent, so the roof is 5 percent in itself, you get the achievement when you get on the roof, and like said by all on this site forum which i used myself to get complete lists of every where to go, talk to everyone go into every door, re read all your quest related notes to see if any little clues to a quest remains, and also i did uncover all dark/blacked out areas of every map, do every task for every guild and character, some of these may not be needed, but i did them anyway and like i said i got the achievement last nite, so it pays to be as thorough as you can be. it took me 66hrs to complete my 2nd playthrough, but was worth every minute, as everything that i uncovered just added more to the game and expirience of the game. anyhow best of luck to all still after this achievement, there are lists and advice on all this topic all over this site, so use these things when needed and you cant go far wrong.

You must access every location on the map INCLUDING the ones that open when you perform quests for all the quest giving organizations, Blackstone Irregulars, Mages Guild, Rogue Quests (in the tavern at Denerim), Crow Quests (in the tavern in Denerim), Chantry Boards, etc.. etc.. Some of their quests open up spots on the map that do count towards the achievement. Also you recieve a final percentage at the last battle sequence of the game (obviously the location of the archdemon).

If you do all the quests possible, visit every place at least once, (THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE DLC AREAS) and visit the quest opened locations, you should get the achievement :) I got it on my first playthrough.

I didn't do any of the Crow quests, I declined the Assassin guy in the Pearl.  I still got Traveler when I walked onto the roof at the Archdemon.

to get this achivement do you have to try and fill in as much black areas of the map as possible or do you just have to enter a area?

You only need to enter an area to 'explore' it.

This may sound dumb, but what is the warden cache in Denerim? I google it and it only brings up the warden cache quest in the beginning, in the Kokari Wilds. Thanks

The area of expored % doesn't matter The areas you need to go to are...

Redcliffe - Blacksmith
Redcliffe - Dwyn's Home
Redcliffe - Kaitlyn's House Downstairs
Redcliffe - Kaitlyn's House Upstairs
Redcliffe - Tavern
Redcliffe - General Store

Denerim - The Pearl (Brothel)
Denerim - Gnawed Noble Tavern
Denerim - The Wonders of Thedas
Denerim - The Warden's Cache (back area of the warehouse)
Denerim - Wade's Blacksmith Shop
Denerim - Dark Alley
Denerim - Dirty Back Alley
Denerim - Rundown Back Street
Denerim - Deserted Building
Denerim - Orphanage

Lothering - Dane's Refuge

Village of Haven - Villager's House
Village of Haven - Village Shop

Orzammar - Figor's Imports
Orzammar - Proving Grounds
Orzammar - Shaperate
Orzammar - Alimar's Emporium
Orzammar - Janar's Armorer's

Fort Drakon - Final Rooftop Boss Battle

Some how I was always missing the tavern in Redcliffe. To anyone wondering ...yes... these all must be hit in one playthough. The ach will pop as soon as you open the door to the rooftop with the archdemon.

Oh also I ended the game at only 88%  areas explored

I wish ya luck CSARdiver I know it took me until my third playthrough until I got that achievement. I had kept missing the Warden's cache. My only recommendation to you is complete every quest you can and go into every building you can along with upstairs if it's there

If it iswn't a bug ...

I have unlocked this achievement on xbox during my third playthrough. Not after because I had missing some places. i believe that there isn't a direct connection with percentage of world explored. But there are some places, from side-quests, that easily can be missing.

I have followed the guide and I have unlocked the achievement.

Previously I didn't "open" Fort Drakon ( like prisoner ), the Antivan Crows' missions ... the Shale's place, perhaps a location in Denerim ( real estate from Couldry's missions ) ...

You don't need Couldry's mission. I unlocked it with a mage.

I am. I inadvertently followed the guide and got it no prob. Make sure when you hit Denerim you take the Back Alley Justice quest from the chantry. A friend was having problems with the ach because he wasn't grabbing it first and a random encounter in Denerim can screw it up.

I've been to all of those areas in three times in three complete playthroughs now, and no achievement.  The headache that this and the recruiter achievement have caused me has left me with no desire to play this game until they fix it.
