Hey guys, I know this a topic that's been beaten to death, but I was checking out the IGN forums today, and someome posted an Xbox360 magazine cover revealing ME3 new maps and multiplayer.  I personally feel that multiplayer will take away from the ME series, but as long as there aren't any MP-based achievements, I won't care too much.  I'm a bit of a completionist, but not a big fan of multiplayer games.  For example, Dead Space 2 did it right.

No. That mag was playing games with the cover to make it look like they had new info. They didn't. They just discussed the last MP rumor that popped up.

Nope, XBox World put it in the title in an attempt to sell a couple more copies. It hasnt been confirmed and they just talked about the rumour.

The magazine's just ran with a rumour eurogamer were speculating on, if you Google 'mass effect 3 multiplayer' you should find the eurogamer one and a few others also using the eurogamer article as their source.

The eurogame article never named a reliable source and Bioware has not confirmed multiplayer.

If they intend to do so I expect they'll announce it at the next big games conference or sometime before January.

Please use the existing threads for these types of questions, or at least read them and you may find your answer.

Correction, you will find your answer because this was discussed quite a lot in all threads pertaining to mass effect multiplayer.

 100% not. I bought the magazine and all it had was a tiny 1 inch by 2 inch box where the writer wrote that he beleived the multiplayer rumours but that he knows it might not happen. The magazine cover should have said "Multiplayer rumor" but simply said "Multiplayer".

It still hasn't been confirmed.

That is not to say that it won't be, as I said above I'd give it to the end of the year and if we still year nothing then don't be too disappointed if it is single player only.

if they do multiplayer i'd rather they do a halo reach style game covering a big event in the ME universe instead of shoehorning it into the last part of a trilogy.

Honestly, if ME3 seriously had multiplayer, I think it'd be more than a rumor by now. Bioware isn't exactly Fort Know, and that sort of thing would leak quick and easy. Until I see a picture, I don't believe squat.

Exactly, as I said on another thread (this one should be locked btw there are dozens of threads discussing this topic) people on these forums tend to be a bit too credulous when it comes to badly sourced rumours such as this one.

If Bioware are putting multiplayer into ME3 then they'll let us know about it, it's not the type of feature they just don't tell you about, if it's in they'll be using it as a selling point.

If they are working on it and haven't told us it'll be because they aren't yet sure they want to include it.

When it's definitely been decided that it will definitely be a feature then we will hear all about it from Bioware themselves, till then, don't get your hopes up.

This link is no kind of confirmation. It all just links back to the same article that the OP asked about. And since we know it's not actually talked about in the article. Only a tiny side bar. This so called confirmation is null and void.

check your links on this stuff when you post it please.  We had the information up before they did.

Another site about predicting rumors?
Im not holding my breath until Gamescom or someone from Bioware confirms it.
If multiplayer will be in ME3, Gamescom is probably, last and best place where they could confirm it IMO.
