Should there be more interaction between squaddies in ME3?

In Mass Effect 1 we had the famous elevators where we got to see our squadmantes talk so that we could see how our squadmates felt about each other and how they talked to each other. In Mass Effect 2 we didn't get that at all really (there were some instances but very few). But in neither of these games was it very in depth, with Mass Effect 1 elevator conversations being more about the universe than the characters and in Mass Effect 2 the only thing coming close to finding out about how one squadmate feels about another squadmante was when Kasumi asked if Jacob is into Japanese girls. I realise that in the games you are Shepard and the game revolves around him but in my real life I am aware of how my freinds feel about each other and other people.

So I am just wondering if in Mass Effect 3 they may include this in the story. Mabye instead of a squad member only ever being in one section of the ship they may alternate between three, socialising instead of doing some calibrations. It would be interesting to listen into squaddies conversations and find out how they feel about each other. Mabye you could even influence how they feel about each other. If you hear Liara talking trash about Tali you could tell Tali what she said for some renegade points (causing the two to not talk as much any more) or convince Liara to try and be nicer to Tali for paragon points (causing the two to become friends.)  Mabye you could even set some squaddies up with each other- Kaiden and Liara for a biotic couple and so on.

So what do you think? Should they do this? If so then who would you make friends, who would you make enemies, and who would you make lovers?

PS- Sorry guys, I guess the romance part came off a bit strong. When I wrote this I only thought of that as a little extra thing. Truth be told I would be very happy for squad member on squad member romance to not be included in what I suggest. It's really just seeing them interact with each other I would like. I think it would be great to see Garrus and Tali hanging out and then to join in a conversation where we could all talk about all the crazy stuff we've done as squadmates through the years, and instead of seeing Grunt standing watching a wall mabye we could have see him and Thane discussing their kills and how they feel about them. Obviously in ME3 some of them won't be squad mates but I just think that it would make the game seem more real if we saw some interaction between the characters.

I like the idea, but I wouldn't want the dev team to delay for it. Zaeed and Chacwas

I'd make everyone friends. Liara have called dibs on my Shepard so the others should get a chance to get to know each other instead of grinding against Shep.

What? Why does the Normandy have to be the love ship? Does it's lighting alter brain patterns to make everyone want to get it on or something? NO!

^Indeed. BioWare already went too far (imo) by adding an insane amount of romance option in ME2, let's not make it worse by having squaddies romance each other. I'm fine with a few lines of dialogue indicating some squad members get it touch/friendly with others off screen (much like how Kasumi seemed to have chatted with everyone at least once) but please no romance between them. If BW has that much time to spare, either do some more polishing or release the game early.

Again with the romance obsession. Only time you ever saw the squaddies even talking to each other was when they were fighting. I mean what is so bad about the idea of having a stroll to see Chakwas and finding Garrus and Mordin sitting in the mess hall. They then ask you to come over to settle a bet or something? Just some friendly interaction between squad members where not everything have to end with "Shepard can I talk to you... alone?".

1 or 2 if it makes sense. But it's a war frigate not a love boat. More concerned on how the element of the team dynamic will come into play. Having a ship full of specialists who don't know about or interact with the others is disappointing. I like the Tela Vasir Persuade/Intimidate option when Marianna gets taken hostage. It shows that Shepard and Liara are familar with each others tactics. More of this between squaddies and it will be all good.

Well yes, I would be very happy if they seemed to know each other a little bit at least =) some crew interaction would go a long way to making it feel like a integrated crew. Maybe just a little bit of banter during missions or something, that's one thing I miss a little from DA2.

I definitely think they should form some kind of friendships. It always seemed absurd to me in ME2 when everyone just stayed in their rooms and didn't socialise with any of the other characters, despite having a lot in common (except to argue in the Miranda/Jack and Tali/Legion cases).

I think some squad interaction would be a great addition to the game. In ME2 there was the Jack/Miranda rivalry but that was just one fight and no one else even said anything about it. It would be cool to see some of the squaddies talking and interacting with each other.

There should absolutely be some sort of friendship between squadmates, or even squadmates and the crew. Whether we actually see them talking in the mess hall or we just hear the squadmates chatting when we walk around the Citadel, we should see that Shepard isn't the only one they interact with. Even ignoring the fact that they're working together and should get to know one another, even just for tactic's sake, the galaxy is under attack. Billions are dying. Not everyone can lean solely on Shepard.

Romance-wise, I wouldn't mind a small, humorous reference, like how Fenris/Isabela was done. Though if it was done, I'd prefer it be a couple already hinted at, like Jacob/Kasumi. They could do a few jokes based on her crush, but no subplot please.

The galaxy is under attack and you want to know if Garrus will have tea with Grunt and share stories about how much people they've killed. That's cool. I'm all for it.

I wouldn't mind seeing some friendship stuff pop up between characters, but not romance.

I guess I could see Kasumi and Jacob since she would already be gung-ho on the idea, but I'd like 1-2 line reference and that's it.

They could have some cutscenes like in DA2 where Shep comes into the middle of a conversation, or they could go back to triggered conversations like in ME1.

I've always been for this. I'm even slightly pained that they cut out interaction between Grunt and Mordin (they even recorded the dialogue for it). Two fights and some loose dialogue from Zaeed and Kasumi is alright, but felt a bit bland next to the elevator conversations from ME1.

ME1 also showed how some of the crew became friends, with Ashley telling Tali that she hopes Tali's participation in the mission will help redeem the reputation of her people.

Yeah...well I kinda wish Liara would grind against someone else....you know because it's getting very stalker-ish. Oh let's face it. Liara is a stage 5 clinger.

Anything that makes the squadmates into more than gun-toting husks would be a good thing.

And I don't mind that one bit. Besides. She was anything but clingy in ME2. I mean I had to paragon interupt just to get a hug. =]

Yes!

I would love some more random conversations between squadmates and the crew that don't require Shepard's involvement. Something like the elevator conversations in ME1.

Maybe not having romances among the crew but once in awhile going in to see one of your permanent squad members (like I assume Garrus will be) and seeing him talking with another permanent squad member about something would be cool.

How long do those damn calibrations take?

I think it would be good because most of the people share a past. Like in Mass Effect 2 when Garrus teased Tali on the Citidel

Definitely want more squad interaction. ME2 was quite disappointing in this respect. Save for the arguments between Miranda/Jack, Tali/Legion we barely get any idea of what the squad members think about one another. How does Mordin feel about Grunt? Jacob? Thane? Some characters, unless you brought them on missions together say nary a word to each other. And for a game that has such well-written and developed characters as ME, that's a big oversight in my book.

What was most disappointing to me was the fact that we have veteran squaddies Tali and Garrus on board again and outside of a bonus convo on the Citadel we get no further development of their relationship towards each other. The elevator convos of ME1 did a pretty good job of illustrating this; Garrus tended to get down on Tali due to her being a quarian and referenced the stigma attached to her for releasing the geth on the galaxy, and Tali has to end up always on the defensive with him. With Tali's loyalty mission being such a big plot point, it's sad that Garrus wouldn't have an opinion to share on it.

I'm not saying ME3 has to suddenly turn into The Young and the Restless, just add in some extra scenes of character interaction other than with Shepard. FFVI is a great example of this, for anyone looking for a reference point.

Not big on the love boat idea, at most I would want to see them do something like what was done in DA2, when you walk into someones base and they were with another member of your party, they could even add EDI in there like they did with Legion. I would rather see them in their element, over those elevator conversations which felt so sterile.

Do that, leave like crew talking to each other, add some banter on the missions; but not the random DA banter, something more relevant to the situation at hand. Maybe with a little extra personal flavor, depending on who their on the mission with.
