If the Hero of Ferelden went through the Eluvian how is the book that Morrigan leaves behind going to get to the First Warden? Of course the Hero of Ferelden could have also stabbed her in the stomach and delivered the book his/herself. Just saying.

So since Ariane's, Finn's, & Barkspawn's story is possibly not over what do you think happens? Other than Arianne and Finn inevitably knocking boots that is.

Why would they knock boots? Just because it was a long trip back from the dragonbone wastes? Because they could no longer play punch buggy? They were just plain bored?

The book probably wound up in a Dalish Camp or in the Circle library. Do we know what the book was exactly? Maybe it was the Tome of Slumbering Elders. :)

And fat lot of good that did, stuck in my inventory as a junk item.

Depends who wore the trousers in the Ariane-Finn situation.

 Well that explains that. I guess the book that will save the world from whatever twisted chess game Flemeth is playing is probably in some merchant's junk stash in the Free Marches.

Just ponder the implication, if only to humor me for a moment...what if the tome was intentionally meant to be a junk item, yet is the most important book in all of Thedas? We don't see the book title in Awakening, the Keeper tells us its of great value in DA2 and yet it transfers over to junk. It's a complete coy breadcrumb. A little "mention" in the annals of Thedas history that probably leads to unraveling the majority of the mysteries before us. "Slumbering Elders" is very telling.

Believe me I always think this myself. That sh!tty tome is collecting dust in Hawke's storage chest. I used to think that Sandal could do something with it but he kept asking for salamanders. Maybe in a future DLC Morrigan, OGB, and the Warden (if that's what happened in your game) will pop out of it after some training in the "Hyperbolic Time Chamber".

Lucky me then, I purposefully returned home and stored that book in a chest.

Keep in mind in regards to the book. Morrigan knew the peaces to the puzzle that the Dalish may never know. This allowed her to use the book to get to her goals. Meanwhile anyone else looking at it may become puzzled or read it as just a history book? Who knows. As for their stories. I wouldn't mind seeing Finn and Ariane again at some point I guess. By the same token there are other former companions I'd like to see such as Sigrun. Unfortunately that may never come true.

Loved all three characters and would definitely welcome their return in the future. Wouldn't be surprised either, particularly Finn. Plus if they find a way to bring the Warden back then having Rabbit/Barkspawn/Dog at his or her side would make a lot of sense.

um.... wait what? The book was returned to Ariane, as far as I can tell. It was an entire book on the Eluvian, and was property of the Dalish.

Now, I'm sure the Dalish would be willing to share the information (and more than likely there were some notes Morrigan took) with the Wardens since one of their own disappeared through the Eluvian, if that route was taken. The Dalish and the Wardens are in good standing with one another and respect each other. There's no animosity between the two.

Was ity returned to Ariane?  I kind of remember everyone walking away with the book laying there on the ground . . . . .

Anyway, I'd love to see Ariane back.  She really should have been romanceable.  And in DAO.  And in DAA.  And in DA2.

Provided she doe not look like a mule <_< worst change ever, though Merrill did look ok. Now I feel even less bad when I wipeout the entire clan:D

If I remember correctly, Morrigan left two books not just one. There is a closed green book on the ground which I took as the dalish book and one that was open for the warden. The warden actually bends down to slightly read this book. Then the warden and party walk away with Barkspawn trailing behind. It does show the warden possibly picking it up.

I'd love to see Ariane and Finn return.  Hopefully, we will see them in the future.

I would think Ariane would be smart enough to pick up her own clan's book. Otherwise, if I ever see her again I want the option to smack her upside the head.

I can see Ariane bringing the books back to her clan, since I don't imagine Finn would be able to convince her to hand them over to the Circle of Ferelden.

@OP, I'm sure Dog went with The Warden into the Eluvian, since I don't see The Warden simply abandoning his faithful Mabari Hound to two complete strangers.

I'd guess that my hound went with Ariane. Since two of my wardens have gone through the mirror.

Your dog could be used to track the warden if they wish to show this in the future.   The dog leaves no matter what.

yea, but why make a secret of whether it was picked up or not? And if the Warden did, why wasn't Ariane curious about? She just walked away, and it was her whole reason for being there. For that matter, why wouldn't SHE pick it up?

Meh, just rather disappointing.

I'd say she picked it up and the warden picked up the book open for him/her.

I didn't really care to see them return before, but this pairing of them piques my interest.

The only good companion in Witch Hunt was Dog, Finn was a little nerdy jerk (poor statue) and Ariane was just too easy to make fun of.
