Tried to make their deaths look more like noble sacrifices, as opposed to incompetence on Shepard's part.

How'd you do that?

Me too for my canon run.  The suicide mission feels a lot more dramatic when you're taking casualties every step of the way.  And you can do it without making Shep seem incompetent at all (without metagaming).

I lost Kasumi in the vents by picking Zaeed as fireteam leader.  She got hit as we were closing the door under fire. We did everything right...it was just bad luck.

I lost Samara on the long walk.  Jack (non-loyal - I backed up Miranda in their catfight) held the barrier up almost all the way.  Samara was too far back when it went down - she was protecting the rest of us.  She died a hero.

I lost Thane leading the diversion attack.  He got the team through, but got wounded himself, and died shortly after we got him to cover.  It was tragic, but with the weight of fire they were fighting through we were lucky to just lose one man.

I lost Jack in the final battle.  She was crushed by falling masonry.  God damn it: I should have forced her to wear combat armour.  Not that she ever would have listened, I guess.

Woah really, it takes you 60 hours? Why?

I honestly want to know what takes you so long?

For my ultimate playthrough, I will read, play, and watch every scrap of ME canon in chronological order. Starting with ME: Evolution; ending with ME3. Every comic, web comic, novel, game, and anything else they think of by the time I can actually play ME3 (I'll be away for Army AIT till around April or May).

Hitting up that FIFA 12 Barca

Basically the best football team in the world, but I won't be buying FIFA 12. Too similar to FIFA 11. I will be watching all their matches, along with Arsenal who I also enjoy. That'll keep me well occupied until March 6.

I plan on reading the books 2-4 even though 4 isn't out until Jan. I'm going on vacation in Oct. and I
have a several hour layover and long enough flights to read a book each way.

I also plan on creating two more femSheps. One pure renegade, not sure about background/class/military rep yet on either one yet. I plan on doing one in Sept. Another in Dec. I will redo my canon femShep during the middle of Feb that way I will have about a week or so before ME3.

I might write more fanfic.

I already completed all my preparations.

It's possible playing through the entirety of the last game will influence me to go back and play them in order back to back to back. If I exhausted every possibility before hand, then there would be no reason for me to go back and do that and I'd feel bad.

For now, all of my Playthroughs are fine. What I will probably do is: reread the comics/books, play through Galaxy just for the hell of it, and then go through the Wiki to make sure I know everything I could know about the series. Once I get my CE, I may or may not look through the Art Book... In the ME 2 CE the Art Book spoils the final boss. I wouldn't to spoil anything, so I would likely wait until I beat the game to go through it.

Once I actually play the game, I will probably play will my imperfect Shepard (I will play with my perfect Shepard once I know of all of the consequences).

I'll probably start a new Mass Effect campaign from ME1 onwards around January-ish. After I finish my Holiday games. Its going to be pretty tight though.

I think I'll probably wait until late February, knowing myself maybe even March. I'd still get it done, of course, even at the cost of my sleep.

My final Mass Effect run, that's what.

I checked my save games and I spent around 60 hours per game completing Mass 1 & Mass 2.

On November 1, I'm restarting Mass 1, and playing for 1 hour/day.  If my calculations are correct, I'll finish Arrival a couple of days before Ramona Flowers brings Mass 3 to my door.

One hour a day for a hundred and twenty days.  By the time Ramona arrives I'm going to believe I am Commander Shepard.  I know, I know, it's an awesome idea.  You're welcome.  How are you preparing for Mass Effect 3?

The same thing happened to me from the time I finished ME1 and started playing ME2, except it was unintentional on my part. First, I got DA:O a month or two after it was released. Then when I was finished playing that I said to myself "Hmm, if Bioware can make awesome games like this, maybe I should check out their earlier games." So I happened to find Mass Effect 1 (on steam). I played it and absolutely loved it. I found out maybe a few days after I finished ME1 that ME2 was coming out in a few weeks.
