What is the most realitistic romantic paring in your opinion?  Also give reasons of why said romantic paring has a realisitc feel that other parings don't.

I think that how much time Shephard has known the character before having romance with him/her, is related to how realistic it is.

Or you can say none of them are realistic since its science fiction, which we all know isn't realistic

I'm gonna catch hell for this but honestly it's probably Ashley if you are a male Shep and Kaiden for a femshep. Think about it, you have been serving with Kaiden for what I assume has been more than just a couple hours and with Ashley she is the same species, is also in the military, and is the first person you meet after one member of your squad is killed.

Also, if we are going from ME1 forward I don't think Liara because she seems really kinda immature/naive in the first one and seemed like a bit of a psycho to me in the second one.

As a non romancer with no LI choice to defend...taking a cold hard look, I would agree with Gregolian....Kaidan and Ash....also pretty much for the same reasons.

I'd have to say Liara, Lair of the Shadow Broker, nuff' said.

Ash is the least realistic for me because she's such a blatant racist.
If romancing Liara, this conversation appears:
"Scuttlebutt (Garrus) says you have a thing for her."
"Oh I get it, have to make nice with all the bug eyed monsters."
On the Citadel:
"I can hardly tell the aliens from the animals."
Honestly, people that think she isn't racist need to open their eyes. She has always been the one to get toasted on Virmire, I never regret it, and I never will.

It really depends on what you like as an individual. I'm not gonna be biased and say Jack but, you can argue, opposites attract. Two people from totally different worlds in a sense - Soldier and Criminal, though I use that term loosely.

I do agree with Gergolian though, those two are a great pair.

Most realistic?

I'd say none of them. The most realistic Shepard to me is a single Shepard. Maybe with someone waiting back home.

Famous badass Commander Shepard x Sexy no bs Miranda Lawson

By far the most compatible I've seen Shepard has a canonical personality that goes well with Miranda's.

This. But if I absolutely had to choose someone,I'd say the VS.

Just an FYI - what Ashely refers to as "Scuttlebutt" is not meant as a derogatory comment towards Garrus. "Scuttlebutt" is a slang word for general gossip and rumors. Her comment therefore was essentially saying to Shepard "Rumor has it that you've got a thing for her".

Back to topic - I'd probably say Liara. She's the one that helps the Commander through his dealings with the visions from the Conduit. Seeing as Shepard had to struggle with these visions for a while before Liara came around, I'd say he/she looks to her for some emotional support. I also found the buildup to that romance to be very well written and portrayed.

I'm pretty much on board with Gregolian on this. While Shepard is far from a xenophobe (half his crew are aliens ffs), he/she is eventually going to want kids (of his own species). That basically leaves Ashley, Kaidan, and Jacob (Miranda is sterile). Jacob is a bro who lacks real depth and is nice for a fling, but for a till-death-do-us-part, I don't see it. Ashley and Kaidan are all that's left.

Regarding Ashley's racist comment on the Citadel, you guys have heard that was only supposed to trigger after passing a certain keeper, right? One Bioware staff member (can't remember which) said it was a huge goof that ended up turning a lot of people off Ashley.

Yeah. Gotta agree that Shepard shouldn't have an LI while on duty.

But out of all the love interests available for shep it's gotta be Ashley and Kaidan.

::facepalm::

As hilarious as it would be to call Garrus that, 'scuttlebutt' is actually a slang term for gossip/rumors.  It is basically an old term for "water cooler".

EDIT: Damn, ninja'd... like 5 minutes ago, lol.

There is always some form of sacrifice in a relationship, im sure Shepard is aware of the issue of not being able to have biological kids if he decided to have a committed relationship with someone who can't give them that.  The power of love is a curious thing, it can make one man weep, and another man sing, but it can also overpower the need to want to have natural kids.

Jacob and Kaidan are stable guys with their pasts squared away. They are both personality types who are receptive to long term, stable relationships, with the potential for marriage and family down the road.

Ash is a little more wild, even I am a little unsure whether her desire for a family or her career would be more important to her. However, she comes from a fairly large family, and such people (including myself) usually want big families of our own.

So yeah, those three. Although I can see a more naive, less jaded Shepard, falling in love with a person like Tali, and adopting orphans from the Reaper War.

I always though 'Scuttlebutt' was her nick name for Kaidan.

I used to think Ash was a xenophobic cow myself...but then went back and played ME1 again and listened carefully to everything she said...and have retracted my xenophobe accusation statement...Ash is jealous, b*tchy and very cynical...but a xenophobe?...no she isn't....Have a listen to what she actually says in context to situation. I am not defending Ash, I don't particulary like her (for the very reasons above), I'm just suggesting having a listen in context.

Kaidan is my always VS too.

FemshepXTIM would be the most realistic one by far. A woman of femshep's stature wouldn't be lowering herself to be with her underlings but with a top dog like TIM.

I rank the VS slightly above Liara in terms of realism. The ME2 ones have their strong points, but the ME1 partners benefit from a more sensible transition from talking to lovin'. It's still rushed, but not quite as much as the ME2 ones. That for me has always been the big negative for the romances in the second game.

So a man can dwell with "underlings" but a women can only be with someone with higher authority then her's.

Great little ideals that you have. Very cute.

She would have to be more of a renegade, because TIM isn't really a good man.

Women of femsheps' status do usually seek men of equal or greater status but I'm sure in your little world rich and powerful women end up with blue collar men like construction workers all the time.

For renegade femshep TIM is a great man. He's a human patriot with looks, wealth and power.

I'd like to know in what world *you* live in. Obviously a nerd who doesn't know a thing of the outside world beyond the bright light he sees through the window. There is apperantly such a thing as the "underachiever" bachelor "everyone wants to sleep with". I personally wouldn't know, but so I've heard.
