Will we ever catch Balak and the rest of his batarian comrades in ME3, or should I have just killed him?

Derp.

You made your choice when you let him escape, deal with it

You can go, but this isn't over. I'll find you eventually!

So you made the decision with the expectation that you'd be able catch him later? Have your cake and eat it too?

I hope the result of letting Balak go is him murdering millions of people by successfully dropping an asteroid the next time. Hope the handful of scientists were worth it.

I never expected Balak to sit around, not killing anyone. I just want a chance to boot his teeth in without a Green Goblin choice.

Paragon sense of entitlement is annoying.

"You should of killed me when you had the chance."
I really hope that this is a quote from Balak.

I'm inclined to agree with Marshalleck. Just because Shepard intended to eventually kill Balak doesn't necessarily mean that you should be able to.

Paragon choices don't make you a paragon. Everyone plays the game different, no need to be so pissy.

You're right. The idea that you can let Balak go to save the scientists and then just go catch him later does make you a paragon, though. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if they're able to kill/capture Vido and Balak after took a vow against criminal deeds until Shepard found them again in ME3.

Look we all know how Balak is going to pan out, he's either going to be in some dead end dive, completely ruined because of Shepard's actions (I like to call it getting Fist'ed) or he's going to be working with Conrad Verner to ease the suffering of victims of Batarian attacks (getting Blake'd). It's Mass Effect and letting a serial criminal go free is never, ever a bad idea.

Balak failed to destroy Terra Nova.

That means he lost a lot of cred in his circles.

He also probably has the attention of one or more Spectres other than Shepard, since asteroid dropping a colony is a pretty heinous crime, even if it was thwarted.

Not wanting to give anyone the wrong idea I personally don't care how the little criminal cameos play out. Though regarding BDtS it would be nice to get some closure. Either an announcement that Balak was captured or that he managed a successful Terra Nova style attack (I'm not picky). You can pat the Paragons on the back or swat them on the nose but they deserve closure.

It would be nice to hear of the greater effects of the renegade outcome as well like if Batarian attacks declined as a result of it.

Indeed, but I'm willing to concede that Renegade actions like Balak get a fair amount of closure when you kill the bastard.

Is BDtS considered canon? Besides that, my only concern is what are they going to do for people that didn't get BDtS or have a PS3. Only options I see are a DLC that lets you play the level(s) on ME3 as a flashback, or make it so the dialog changes if you didn't get it(i.e. Balak and Shepard don't meet each other, Balak completes his plan, Shepard encounters Balak during ME3 with no previous interaction with each other). But I'm sure any way Bioware does it, it will turn out well.
