My male Soldier is caught between Ashley and Jack, but he's seen so much death in his life, I don't think it would effect him so much as it would just drive him deeper into being a reclusive cynic. He had to watch his entire family die on Mindoir, got his whole squad killed on Torfan, lost everyone but Jack and Morinth during the suicide mission. He knows death all too well, and the way it has twisted him...I don't know if there's going to be much left of him if either one of those women die.

You're going to have a pretty interesting ME3 with only those 2 people left

honestly, having it be LI specific would be pretty arbitrary and would result in a poorly written situation.

like having the squadmate who gets indoctrinated or killed simply because they're your love interest is pretty dumb and cheap way to generate drama.

My Shepard would reload an earlier save if Liara died in order to prevent it somehow. If her death is mandatory he'll have me stop playing ME3 forever, then throw the ME3 disk in the trash.

Considering how death proof Liara is in ME1 & 2, I'm pretty sure even if the Reapers win she will still be alive.

My main Shepard would be devastated. He loves Ash. In a way, she helped heal the wound left by the death of his parents on Mindoir. And yes, it would gravely affect the mission (just like Thane losing his son would affect his role in the SM).

PLEEEEEEEZ, Bioware! If an LI even has the option of dying / being indoctrinated, have it either be a choice or something that happens if we seriously eff up! Shepard deserves at least the option to have a happy ending with his/her LI after all the crap he/she has gone through!

The Jennifer Hale interview has me pretty scared about what happens to the VS. My Sheps are all much stronger than I am, so they would be able to finish the mission without Kaidan, but I would probably be too upset to continue playing for a bit...

I really like my happy endings, but I always have one Warden and Hawke who gets a very very sad ending. The US for my Warden with me going *sniffle* in front of the computer. And for Hawke, she romanced Anders and always thought that there could be a good way to end the templar/mage-conflict. She was in for a surprise to say the least. So, one of my FemSheps will probably get a really heartwrenching end and LI dying is right up there. Then I believe that she would aim for a heroic death and take the last reaper down with her. But for the rest of them, I want to be able to get my happy ending.

If Liara or Tali died. My male shep would unleash a furry of vengence against the galaxy. If my main bro Garrus died......All life as we know it would be extinct....A world without Garrus isn't worth living....

well, when my shepard's li died on virmire, he decided to cope by drinking himself silly and kicking the lockers beside Kaidan's chair.

then he died in the cold, unloving vacuum of space.

it depends on how they die. I don't mind if they die as long as it:

A.) makes sense

B.) done VERY well (i.e. doesn't make you feel like it wasn't necessary and that there was a chance of survival)

my Shep would mourn AFTER the Reaper invasion is dealt with

tbh though, if LI's can die in ME3...there should be a way for them to survive.......

I'm sure most people would honestly go back to ME1 and collect all the turian insignias and matriarch writings and minerals and such so they can get a happy ending (obviously, I hope that's not a requisite)

My Shepard was an Earthborn, grew up alone and had no real friends. Had no one to look forward to seeing or care for. If liara died my shep will become a cold hearted monster, just suddenly give up on the emotions and just does not care for who dies or who is injured. Possibly go mute for a while, only issuing orders is when you hear shep and you won't see any emotion displayed at all. Just an emotionless husk. Heart was ripped right out if liara died.

Just because a character had 'plot armor' in the other games does not mean they will still  have that 'plot armor' in the last game.

Liara isn't the only character with 'plot armor'.
