In my most recent playthrough of ME1, I missed the encounter with the Terra Firma folks on the Citadel. Does that have any effect in ME2? Does it even have a flag in the save file?

Edit:

Also, if it does have a flag in the ME1 save file, does it also have a flag in the ME2 file? Basically, I don't want to screw up ME3 - this is my canon playthrough.

I dunno about ME2 flags in the save file, but there was cut content.

...nuts.

Okay. I may have to play ME1 again, since it's looking like the ME2 file might have it, in that case. Yes, I'm insane.

Thanks.

Oh, but you could try the save editor for that. I can give you a link that that thread.

Yeah, I could. I'd rather not, though. Thanks anyway.

There is no flag for that quest in the save editor. The cut content itself is just news reports, so not really all that relevant.

But there is no way I know of to guarantee that there is not a flag in the code somewhere that Bioware could use as in import in ME3.

That doesn't mean much.  The devs have stated numerous times that flags for all sorts of stuff they didn't use are in our save files.   The save editor exposes the stuff that affects ME2 (and the unmodified version only exposes the table the importer reads, not the one game actually uses). Though some are redundant (for instance, the multiple flags for how Wrex died, when all that matters is that he's dead) and a couple didn't end up being used this time around (e.g, using the Consort's gift on Eletania).

That's pretty much what I meant, yep.
