For those who have their Shepard romance Tali, i want to ask is why?  Why create a romance in ME2 with tali?  Do you want stress to be put on your Shepard.  After all, you are picking a romance that has HUGE OBSTICLES, and the fact that if they continue this romance, they can not make in a habit in having contact with one another (whether it is sex, kissing, or Shephard just touching her skin),this  just makes it even worse.  And if you think about it, the longer it gets, the more stress would be put on Shepard and Tali.  So what is the point?  Because even if you decide to romance Tali in ME2, and carry it over into ME3, and Tali and Shepard survive ME3, it would be a miracle if they could continue a long lasting relationship.

So with all that stated, please explain why you wanted to romance Tali?  Do you like relationships that have many challenges?

I actually don't hate the character of Tali, however im just wondering why some people think a romance between the two is a good idea.

Well, she's hot and easy to get along with.

Plus some of us have... exotic tastes.

Because they like her character? The same reason to romance anyone else?

Not every relationship is built on physical contact, nor should they be. From a character perspective, I imagine that both care for each other and are willing to at least try to make it work somehow is enough for now.

For the player? Who knows, I can't speak for everybody. I imagine "I like her/she's my favourite character and is available as a romance" would be sufficient. If Bioware are willing to hand wave the whole immune system thing with miracle-immuno-boosters, then so am I.

(If, y'know, I played a male Shepard and was thus in a position to.)

Well let's see...

Liara's obsessive.

Jack is a complete lunatic.

Miranda is angsty.

Jacob is unfriendly.

Garrus is too busy.

Thane is... green.

Kaidan is dead.

Ashley likes to spew poetry... and I hate poetry.

If you really love Tali why would you sleep with her ? If she died the next day because you couldn't help yourself what would you do?
That's the reason i don't romance Tali it'd be pretty *** up if she died.

It's difficult, but all things worth keeping are. She's cute, she's smart, funny and she ain't afraid to use her shot gun on you. What's NOT to love?

It's probably because she is the most visibly attracted to Shepard. The whole giddy thing when you talk to her is quite funny and cute lol.

If every Quarian that had sex died of infections, there'd be a lot less of them around these days.

They're all gonna die on the suicide mission anyway. May as well go out with a bang.

No, no, in all seriousness. I think the danger is greatly exaggerated. Tali has survived being shot, twice. That is at least as bad as sex, probably worse (because they probably used protection) and the worst she got was a fever.

Tali was the one who wanted to do it skin on skin. She and Shep could've done it by nerve stimulators, but she decided that this was her first time 'connecting suits' with someone she trusted and she wanted it that way.

I can understand where she's coming from.

Personally, I just get bad vibes. I have friends who have dated clingy girls like that, and they have ALWAYS regretted it afterwards. Me, I don't make mistakes like that. I'm too awesome.

Plus, Tali's like my annoying-but-technologically-brilliant-and-therefore-useful-to-have-around-little sister. Off-limits, man, off-limits.

True, but she made it sound like a huge risk

She already comes equipped with a bag on her head, no need to put one.

Tali isn't that clingy... especially not against Liara.

Well, by having sex with you, she is having sex with a non-Quarian.
It's a very heavy risk I'd say.

Different points of view will always be at odds with each other.

Also, Liara had an immunity card in the form of being a blue alien space babe.

Well, yeah, but it's presumably possible given ample preperation and a suitable environment. Being human adds additional complications, but I'm just going to assume they can be overcome as well.

What bugs me is how that preperation turns out to be "take two pills and go bang the hell out of each other", rather than several days of meticulous decontamination. Or that the actual sex takes place right before the suicide mission, meaning she'd be having any allergic reactions/infections/whatever it is Quarians get right in the middle of it. But I digress.

Broadly: cute and bubbly personality, only alien option (and its a space opera), openly attracted to Shepard, and as competition we have a bald, crazy mass murderer or a morally bankrupt ice queen. Plus, emotional connection is already there from Tali being a crew member on the first Normandy, and while some may not like the crush angle, I didn't feel like a huge leap for me, especially given Tali's daddy issues (not even going to try and deny she has them)

For me personally, there was the connection from ME1 (this was the big one for me from an rp stance), the sheer cute factor, the emotional impact of her LM, her implicit and absolute trust in Shepard, and the fact that she sees Shepard as her knight in shining armour. And amidst all the bleakness, for me as a player, I decided to say "screw it", I'll be her knight.

As for the whole immunodeficiency thing, the fact is that the most dangerous thing they can do is kiss; as a state of the art vessel, the Normandy is going to be damn close to a clean room in terms of airborne pathogens, and Shepard can easily self sterilise to make things safer still. I really don't see it as a dxm.

I always seen her as a little sister, and her suddenly throwing herself on me in ME2 me never felt appealing to me.
As for the romance it would have been a interesting( and more romantic) twist if Shepard and Tali had used a virtual sex interface like that other Quarian on Illium(?), instead of pumping her full of antibiotics.

Little sister figure to me too. It was pretty obvious to me she was still a teen in ME1 (and from quarian POV she was until the Pilgrimage was over), so making her 24 in ME2 gave me the idea quarians mature slower than humans. There´s also that she reminds me of Mission Vao, who I tought of as Revan´s little sister figure.

Hey, if the pie maker and Chuck can make it work in Pushing Daisies then why can't my Shepard make a romance with Tali work?
