I like the attempt to add continuity and flow to the trilogy but tutu spawns are done so much better imho. BGT will have a xvart, a dire wolf, and a diseased gibberling team up in an unlikely alliance. However tutu will throw 8 gibberlings at you which seems plausible it's only if you get skittish and flee into the unknown that you get bear adds etc.

BGT seems sparser and a little less lively. Tutu is a bit much when you keep meeting double cave bears at lvl 4 but luckily dnd gives you the tools to deal with it, it's a bit of a rough ride tho.

Not sure how much of an effect SCS is having here but I'm sure I selected the same options for each of my installs has this been the experience of others too?

SCS/SCSII are so awesome btw, best mods ever. I wish the best concepts from tutu and bgt could unite but not everyone agrees heh.

Use the BGTTweak mod. This has a number of options that you might like - including changing the standard BGT spawns to Tutu style.

I'm just running through BGT with the Tutu style spawns and it's really disgusting. It's not like my team couldn't handle all the critters without taking any damage, but after fighting of 5 groups of worthless wolves (that don't even offer XP worth mentioning) I'm in no mood any more to charge into the 6th one as well.
It takes forever to just walk over a single map that should have been depopulated by me already.
When I was about to fight my way through an entire army of ankhegs (15 or so) for the third time (fishing village, for Tenya's quest), I decided to just ctrl Y the lot. The spawns are not realistic and they are not fun. They are just bothersome.
Next time I'm thinking of maybe completely eliminating random spawns.

I couldn't agree more, H_T.. It's just incredibly tedious. God, i hate modders who think that tedious=challenging. Thank God for Ctr+Y.

To each is own. I'm really in love with Tutu, and one of the reasons is Tutu+SCS makes travelling through the country a challenge. It's not only the boss fights that are challenging, getting from A-B is. And I think that adds to the fun. It only gets overdone when you have the Worldmap installed (for if you include mega-mods into Tutu): encountering wyverns between the Friendly Arm Inn and Beregost gives away the message 'might as well reload straight away' to a 1st level party. But that's only with the Worldmap-mod.

15 ankhegs? who did you piss_off? :D I had not seen such a large group when I was testing easytutu out again, all the way to baldur's gate and nothing that rediculous.

No, it wasn't that large a group. It was the amount of ankhegs I had to fight while going from the upper right corner (where I started on the map) to the lower left (where the fishermen were waiting). As I said, nothing remotely dangerous - just tedious.

Ok i understand better Taifun, I will have to try out the rest of bgt with vanilla spawns perhaps so i can make a valid comparisson. Also I'm curious about bgspawn mod that is in beta.

I played tutu and bgt both several times and i really hate both spawn systems. Has anyone tried bgspawns and can give a review?
