i mean i took a double take when isaw the price of the DLC saying is this a typo or do i really need lasik done... There is no reason it should be $ 40.00's on the ps3 when the games been out for over a year.

Which dlc is $40? That does sound extremely high priced.

Its not DLC might be your first misunderstanding. Its the full Expansion to the main game.

But I agree there hasnt been a price drop since it launched.

Combined with all the normal DLC ranging from 5-8 bucks its pretty pricey.

This is why most people buy the "Ultimate Edition" its like $30 includes Origins and the Expansion Awakening and all the other DLC plus is patched up to the most recent patch already.

Well Awakening is around 20-30 extra hours of gameplay while all the other DLC is 40 Minutes to 2 or 3 hours of gameplay.

Of course if you did the Ultimate Sacrifice you cant really play Awakening or Golems/Witch Hunt.

just buy the ultimate edition. I think I saw it on Origins for like $20.

Awakening is an excellent expansion. Very well done. it offered me about 17 hours of extra gameplay.

Awakenings was just Ok, and the best stuff about it in my opinion was the extended skills and powers, and those don't get added to Origins so it's not worth $40 to me. Look for a deal?

Wow... uh, no, it is not worth 40 bucks. It's good, but unless you can get it in a package or something, I wouldn't pay that.

Of course, I did, back in the day. *sigh*

Sure, you can buy it on disk for one, and two it's a bit longer than what you get in typical DLC. But it is short and you can't interact with your companions at will.

It's an expansion. It was marketed as an expansion.

The expansion has a great story, and includes some terrific characters, added feats, skills, and items. Get the best deal available which appears to be the Ultimate bundle, and enjoy it.

Why would you get it off the Playstation network when Amazon has it for under $15.00?

And negate every single one of your choices from the main game.

One could play a GW from Orlais, or a recovering US Warden. Or remain dead, and use another character decision. While it may have been sweet to play with the decisions of the dead Warden in place, the Expansion story hardly required it.

After all, the final choice was self-sacrifice, so no benefits are to be expected.

So it's less than what you expect from an expansion, it fails on bringing forward elements of the original game while also not adding anything to that game.

Nope! It worked fine as an Expansion; just a tad high at $40, thus I recommend looking for bundles and bargains.

Anyone else want to chime in about how they like paying more for less?

Is your issue that you just didn't like it? I'm sorry, but it is objectively an expansion. Because they marketed it as one.
