I'm just kind of taking a shot in the dark here, but i've played through the game twice. Trying to 100% both of those. I failed terribly, All I know is I hit the 75% marker both times.
I'm building a character for Mass Effect 2 to 3, and I managed to build my hardcore character up to 53 and I've brought him into Insanity to make sure I've done everything right.

I'm just wondering if I can play the game all the way up to Ilos, and do all side missions at that point. I understand there are some precautions, such as getting the data in the Exogeni base. I've done just about everything, I just want to clarify if it's possible. I messed up before because I started unlocking new systems and got so god damn unorganized with what I have and haven't done I just got fed up with trying. It's much easier when all "Unlockables" are out of the way and I can just play.

I understand this board is hardly touched, thats why I put as much information as possible.

You can go back and do side missions after you beat ME2

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to do that. I would just make sure none of them require you having to go back to the Citadel - to finish them (i.e. Asari Diplomacy, Privateers, etc.),
since you would have stolen the Normandy from lockdown at this point. (don't know for sure if it has any bearing in the game - since I've never actually tried it)

I prefer using the Wiki for a checklist, myself.

You can complete any mission that doesn't require returning to the Citadel

I'd also say your best bet is to do as many side missions before you start doing storyline planets, then as you unlock more, finish those off, rather than waiting until the end.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I checked one of my older saves, and once you get to the Ilos part, and Anderson does his thing to get you off the Citadel, there is no turning back. And special thanks to the checklist. I've been looking for one.
