SPOILERS, KOP!

I'll be the first to say that I too feel that DAII was rushed. That it had flaws. Yet it's still my favorite Bioware game because I never got as deeply involved in any of my other Bioware characters. Or connected with my companions as much. But I never once felt disrespected by the devs or had my intelligence insulted by the game or Bioware itself. They weren't the ones telling me that I must be a 12 year old retard because I love DAII. It goes both ways, KOP. And Legacy showed me that the devs listen and that EA, hopefully, will give them the time they need for DAIII/DAII expansions.

If you do not feel insulted when they tell you that too much detail confuses and distracts you, or that they made an idiotic boss fight just for the sake of it and all the other examples, then good for you.

I felt insulted. And I did not feel that differently than when people are told they have to be 12 year olds to enjoy the game. I mean a wtf boss fight for the sake of it? Yes, I do not feel I am being treated with respect here.

And it's not the same, because you didn't give 60$ to those who insult you. I did.

Marketing talk means nothing to me. Lionhead Studios taught me well.

So how about getting past that.....almost 6 months later....? What good is there in holding a grudge for so long? I mean no offense but in my experience holding a grudge only makes one bitter.

In an attempt to persuade BioWare, derp.

Persuade Bioware into doing what exactly?

Why do you think we still have 2 sides clashing against each other on this forum 6 months after DA2's release?

Because in the end, we all care for the DA franchise and/or BioWare, so we post opinions (be it mellow or aggressive) and want a DA3 that we want.

And what's the best way in directing BioWare in creating the desired game? Oh yeah, posting feedback.

Of that I am aware. However, there are dozens of ideas when it comes to what DAIII should be like. Which is the one we all want? Again, I really do not envy Bioware at this point. :P

That's what you get for splitting your fanbase intentionally and also for being a game developer.

I do not think that Bioware split its fanbase intentionally at all.

I did not ask you to explain yourself, KOP. I've read many of your posts. I simply consider you a dear friend and guess what....seeing my friends being bitter makes me sad.

While touching, there is little I can (or willing to) do for that, I am afraid.

@ Anathemic
Though my interest in the franchise has waned significantly, there is still enough of it for me to care about its future.

But really all this questioning is pointless. Unless there are rules that say you cannot participate in this site unless you give a damn, it's irrelevent to the discussion at hand.

I agree with Anathemic. What good comes out from not saying anything? Good or bad? I think DA has potential. So far, wasted. DAO had things to be polished, and I think everybody was expecting more on DA2. But it came out with too many flaws. And above all: the sense that the franchise is somehow lost. It really seems like they don´t know exactly what to do with it; what kind of game it should be.

And still they released it too quickly. That makes you think. Was it a deadline that bit you in the behind when you were still trying to figure it out? Was it the idea that it was indeed the ideal game?

Both options are scary to me.

Give DA3 the time it needs to be a real great RPG, or drop the franchise. Try again. But as it is, I don´t think it´s worth.

I do not think that Bioware split its fanbase intentionally at all.

Hmmm well that's your opinion.

My opinion is that they saw the already conflicting sides being created at the small bits of info on DA2's release and still continued on with it, intentionally splitting the fanbase.

After I bought and beat DA:O I joined BSN a short time before DA2 was announced. Already as said features such as dialogue wheel, combat vids, gaphics, and whatnot were shown, people were already screaming on these forums.

Being the person I am and having experience with game developers such as Blizzard, Valve, Bethesda, Ubisoft, etc. I already saw a split fanbase and with each announcement only divided the sides further, cementing that dividing line.

And so right when the DA2 release date was announced I made a prediction saying the game will fail for me and probably would with so many others.

Obviously no one paid any heed, and I didn't expect them to. When the demo came out it did indeed fail for me and I had no interest anymore in paying for DA2 until an Ultimate Edition came out.

So here we are half a year into DA2 and we still have a split fanbase due to BioWare's actions. And I am still waiting for said Ultimate Edition.

It definitely wont be as divisive. Because many people who loved Origins and hated DA 2 wont even care about third game.

Based on the obsessive way people who apparently hate DA2 can't leave this forum, I'd say people seem to care quite a bit.

Oh good, then I suppose if they don't care at this point, it will cut down on the ranting/vitriol...oh wait, I've seen a surprising number of people who no longer care about the DA series still posting. I'm assuming that they'll keep on not caring and posting about how much they don't care about every DA game after DA:O for the rest of their lives then?

First, this is bioware forum, not just DA forum. Second, I really dont care about DA franchise anymore but I am still here because of ME 3 and sometimes I check other sections of forum when I am bored.

And most importantly, I am not speaking only about people on THIS forum. Check other forums on the internet and see for yourself. DA 2 is a running joke everywhere else.

So you're frequently visiting other forums on the internet that discuss DA2. You've completely convinced me you don't care.

The people you know must have money to waste in abundance, although there will inevitably be a number of people sucked in by marketing, again. Yet, be suprised that DA3 may be nothing like DAO

Nice try, but no, just regular game forums where is discussed everything about games, not just specific titles.

What's important is whether or not BW learns from the experience of DA2 and applies that knowledge to make DA3 better. What's not important is your opinion that "DA 2 is a running joke everywhere else." Are the people on those forums doing anything remotely useful like providing feedback? Doubtful. Also, you happen to be posting in a DA2 forum specifically devoted to the game...so it actually is "just a DA forum."

That part, I can agree with. But with Ray Muzyka talking about DA 2 being the right direction of the franchise, I doubt they learned their lesson.

I just dont get why they changed winning formula that was DA:O into... DA 2

Yes, sorry, people will pirate DA3 just to complain about it, and then lie and say they bought it afterwards.

Maybe I'm the only one but I never wanted DA to go the way of Pokemon.
