Ok so might aswell create a thread which provided people don't go off on a tangent or attack each others views/opinions should be helpfull imho to Bioware regarding DA3. Please leave your 3 top priority items and move on so this thread doesn't become a flame war or ****** for tat like so many others, it will also keep it amazingly helpful if limited to just the 3 lines about what want most worked on for each person. I would also like the moderators to remove anything that isn't on topic or any arguing so can keep it easy to understand. Respect other peoples opinions and lists, don't reply to anyone or quote them or belittle their lists just list your own 3 items and move on and in doing so; other people should show same respect by not attacking yours and just list their own..

As the title suggests what are the top 3 things that matter most to you for Bioware to work on regarding improving the series for DA3 development. Obviously the are other things which people should already have left feedback for in many threads most importantly the CC threads, but what are the top 3 out of all the things that you would like to be worked on for DA3. Also try to make it short easy to understand and self-explanatory so that won't need to write vast amounts about why, just list what in a 'list format' as simple as can to understand. Will be interesting to see people take step back and think about the 3 most important things to them going forward.

I'll start with.

1. Large amount of areas for exploration within as close as possible a 'living world'

2. Large amounts of loot / customisation and crafting choices; including race choice at start.

3. Choice/consequence, cause/effect that matters, with a huge improvement needed in branching.

1. Ability to speak with companions, on the road also, kiss/tent time anytime.

2. Armor customizations on NPC´s.

3. Deep story where choices matter, silent PC, different opening origins stories.

1) Party Camp/Companion Hub equivalent

2) More lively cities (cities as in more than one); NPC's walk around do activities, player can engage in gambling other non-quest activies etc.

3) Tweak combat so that its slower/more tactical, and no mashing the X button for attack (PS3)

*Would have mentioned deep story with more choices but its already been mentioned

  • The comeback of skills, specially persuasion.
  • An import option to bring back the warden, and the chance of killing Hawke with her/him.
  • Good designed environments, with open areas and beatiful places to see. Not more linear hallways, please.

1. Import flag fix for DAO (for those who have already selected from DAO/ DAA/ WH and have played through DA2, perhaps an interactive comic ala ME2's Genesis or a branching list of decisions to tailor past choices)
2. Even clearer paraphrasing for VO'd convo wheel
3. Rework junk loot to be something that doesn't just take up backpack space.

1- DA3 returns to be a rpg..with statistics, combat, customizations, dialogue, my character, freedom in my story.....
2- Good taste by the artistic design (no more japanese style).
3- A few years for it

1. Reintroduction of meaningful player agency .
2. Reintroduction of noncombat skills and detailed customization.
3. Reintroduction of story choice/consequence.

Honestly three things are not enough to bring this franchise back to life for me, but these generalities are a good start.

Lol what? Um. No.

1. Bigger world
2. Character creation with different races and origin stories (if story permits)
3. Graphic sex scenes

Yep.

1. Have an Acrhitect's Disciple a playable character
2. A Nninja character (Ibuki from Street Fighter inspired?)
3. PC needs to be customizable maybe even more races compared to DAO

forgot to mention crossgame promotional ideas. Seeing is Mass Effect is similar and Blood Dragon Armor was a good idea maybe a unique save data weapon? Maybe a Mass Effect 3 item plugged into DA3?

Let's bear in mind that there are ways to disagree civilly. And, wherever possible, let's try and do exactly that.

Is anyone disagreeing uncivilly in here, or is it just a "just to let you know post"?

probably a preemptive "just to let you know post" because the internet can get firece.

I can feel a storm a-comin'. It's my trick knee.

But no, nothing particularly out-of-line, just wanted to give a general note that 'people might have different ideas than you. Let them have those ideas!'

1. Deeper conversations, and the ability to flirt without sounding like you're just barely holding back mauling them. Conversations that have to do with more than whatever current crisis they need your help with. I want to feel like a friend, not just an errand girl.

2. Unique loot that doesn't make my ADD brain hurt so badly, and a companion "base" so you can equip everyone without having to continually switch up your party.

3. Choices that matter every now and then.

:o
do you actually mean that or did you just want nudity? Because 'graphic sex' means something a lot stronger than that typically.

Traps.

(I haven't played Legacy yet so I will save my other two suggestions for after I've had a chance to do so.)

1. It's probably the only major gripe I have, but the variety in level design did somewhat hamper my enjoyment at times, being unable to distinguish between caves and dungeons due to their being nigh identical. It made an otherwise very visually interesting world somewhat less interesting.

2. More Isabela.

3. A more lucid representation of what the dialogue options entail. Having some degree of suggestion and surprise for the player is great, but I would like to be able to discern whether "witty" will actually translate into "callous".

I don't know what he means but I for one would like contextual, tasteful nudity for the love scenes. People take off their clothes to have sex, it's not a big deal. But as a counter-point the DA2 scenes looked exceedingly corny and could basically have been omitted based on how they were done. The Witcher 2 handled this issue quite well, as did Heavy Rain and the first Mass Effect.

1.- Solve the crippling gameplay/story segregation issues: The narrative presented by the codices/dialogues should be the same that the game world presents, not be directly at odds.
2.- Reinstate the higher level of player agency and control over all his characters (main or companions). This means full accesibility to a companion character sheet - that is, all corresponding class abilities and configuration options (additions and tradeoffs are welcome and enjoyable, outright prohibitions are contrary to fun). This also means a working dialogue choice system in which we cannot be surprised by a character of our own design.
3.- Reinstate non-combat gameplay. Get rid of the fight-talk-fight-talk cycle, that gets boring and repetitive after a while. Insert pacebreakers, puzzle levels, the ability to bypass encounters by stealth, a controlled degree of exploration (as in the original Baldur's Gate). Have the game surprise us constantly, don't let it grow stale and fall into the two-steps gameplay pitfall.

I wasn't trying to start anything, just wanted to know what was considered out-of-line for future reference.

This is a good thread it would be a shame if it was derailed, good job we have your trick knee:)
