"I can't tell the blacks from the animals". That's totally not racist.

Wtf, hyperbole much? I don’t recall her saying anything about blacks and neither did I. Hanar look like jellyfish. They do. Observing that doesn’t make one xenophobic.

You missed the point entirely.

Eh, I don't really like Ashley much. I preferred Kaidan, so that's why I chose him over Ashley.

Kaidans a great guy and all...but there was something about him, that put me to sleep. Hearing his voice is like reading a history book. And he doesn't say much other than that hes a biotic and was put through hell for it.

You completely missed the point.

Ice queen? My, my, Brother, I think me and you have different games!
I think Ash was the funniest and most chilled-out character in the game.

There was no point to that absurd statement. Comparing the two instances is ridiculous.

I guess you guys who see her as a xenophobe have a more expanded mind than Ashley's own writer who said she wasn't a xenophobe.

The statements are the same thing. They both compare another race/species to animals, which is considered offensive.

If I say a Turian looks like a grasshopper that might offend them.
If I say a black man looks like a monkey, that might offend them.
Get it?

I cannot tell animals from aliens is a bugged comment. it was only supposed to happen next to a keeper. and concidering that we have service dogs even know that perform task/ wear backpacks visibly resembling keepers? she might have been tactless but she was not xenophobic.

Ashley shooting Wrex is your own fault. you didn't do his quest. you didn't get enough paragon/renegade points. Ashley said she'll be keeping an eye out, just in case. She saw her commander with a gun in a face, and commander didn't seem to be making any progress. so she took an initiative and did what she thought was necessary to save her commander's life. do I think she should have had more faith in her commanding officer's ability to diffuse that situation? yes. however - she didn't shoot Wrex out of Xenophobia. she would have done exactly the same thing if it were human, pointing a gun at Shepard in a similar setup.

Did I have second thoughts about Ashley? yes. when I saw her redesign, I almost went back and edited my saves where she lived. yes, I dislike her new look that much. I always preferred Kaidan anyways, but Ashley grew on me enough to want to have her in ME3 at least for some of my games. I didn't edit my saves yet, because I appreciate her character enough to hope that it is handled well in ME3. there's always time to redo those saves once the game comes out.

The writer did a bad job of showing that.

He can't really compensate when people miss the point of the character entirely, it's not bad writing if somebody wishes to ignore it.

Hanar do look like jellyfishes. Keepers do look like bugs. Jesus Christ, people take political correctness to an extreme. We aren’t talking about black people looking like animals. Saying that aliens look like animals when they are designed with animal features does not a xenophobic make. Get it?

Can I get some proof that it's bugged? From a dev statement? Also, keepers look nothing like dogs, so comparing them to animals is still stupid.

If I were to say ``should we be letting black people walk around on the Normandy,`` would that not be considered racist?

Miranda and Ashley both give me the Bastila Shan wipe.
My male Shepard needs a view nagging women behind him to keep him on his toes.

ME3 would be boring without Ashley, especially when she gets all jealous again, it will be awesome.

Replace black people with Russians, Normandy with any US vessel and place it shortly after the Cold War.

Edit: Or vice versa.

If you find her racist then just pick all the paragon choices with her and she will eventually give it up by ME2. (Unless you kill her at Virmire lol)

Plus I love it when women talk back at you.

Everyone is getting the impression I hate Ashely, when the original post states eitherwise. Don't take my debates too seriously, i'm not trying to offend or step on anyones toes.

We are not talking about nationalities, we are talking about races. As well, the first contact war was nothing more than a misunderstanding. She also doesn not want Wrex walking around the ship even though the Krogan never were at war with humanity.

They look nothing alike. The only thing that's similar is the backpack.

Stated by a developer years ago? Well, no offense, until I get some links or so, I won't believe it.

Yes let's ignore that the Asari stopped the war and the Krogan weren't involved in the first place. Neither were the Quarians. Closer to after the cold war 20 years later the Russians co-developed a new submachine with the US and had some of their people on board to check out how it works. AlonNow if she only made that comment about Garrus I'd understand (still would strike me as idiot though considering thg with a few others from different countries. damn ship was built with the help of the turians in the first damn place). The chances of them not knowing how the ship works is low.

So...yeah it was a dumb comment to make.

right becasue random Krogan you pick up on a citadel while he's having altrecation with law inforsment and admits to being a mercenary - has a place on a military experimental vessel.  yep

and first contact war might seem like misunderstanding to you, but it was still war.  people died.  national tensions are not exactly over (guess which council member is the one most against allowing shepard to become a spectre?  take a wild guess)

Tali is even more random.

At big bad wolf.  well, how about this?  sure the other is not weariong a backpack and you meet them i na wild, but alien animal ftw.. that has a lot of similarities to a keeper.  whadya know

When your "race" is tied to your nationality, they are one and the same.

As well, the first contact war was nothing more than a misunderstanding.

Still doesn't stop how a lot of people died, it brewed distrust between the humans and the turians and that in the modern day universe we're only kept incheck by the Citadel and a treaty. Unless you're trying to say it being a misunderstanding completely replaces everything that happened.

Hell, you're questioned quite a few times by Alliance officials if it's wise to bring aliens onboard to witness the star of human tech.
