They look nothing alike. The only thing that's similar is the backpack.

Stated by a developer years ago? Well, no offense, until I get some links or so, I won't believe it.

Not to mention, if she was only referring to Keepers and Hanar, why didn she say that? Instead she said `aliens,` leaving it to interpretation.

If I were to say ``should we be letting black people walk around on the Normandy,`` would that not be considered racist?

Yes it would, but that's not what Ashley asks. Ashley asks is it smart to let a turian renegade, a krogan bounty hunter, or an asari scientist, all of whom have no allegiance to the alliance, have access to the designs and blueprints of a classified alliance ship. She is a nationalist not a racist. She supports the alliance, hates cerberus, and is indifferent to some of the council species, and with good reason i say. The council has a history of turning on it's allies. (See batarians, krogan)

At what point do they ever see blueprints to the normandy?

Tali might've seen them while working on the engines...but I don't see why the distrust for her when she gave the alliance the means to get a spectre in the first place.

And no matter what anyone says, the fact that she makes the "I can't tell the aliens from the animals" comment in the first place is still stupid.

You mean when did they have access to a classified alliance ship? I don't know:?..... Maybe when they were on it?(see i can be sarcastic too:P.) All joking aside the SR1 is a cutting edge prototype with revolutionary technology. Technology that could give the alliance an edge against the council races should they ever go to war. Why should we let anyone outside the alliance have access to it?

It would be like letting Japenese and German scientists help work on the Manhattan project.

She said that in ME1, right after you get back on the Normandy after becoming a Spectre. And the whole animal line, that is the worst proof of someone being xenophobic that I ever heard. Because lets put it this way, if you know nothing about Elcors, would you not assume it was just some kind of elephant looking animal? Then you find out its a person and then you assume, I guess that bug thing is a person too, then you find out it is some kind of trained animal. Hence you cant tell the people from the animals.

Except that only one of them had access.

Who had access to what? the only person who had access to anything on the ship was Tali. Garrus? He was always with the Mako. Wrex? He was just standing there, doing nothing.

Also, the turians already had the technology because they helped the humans build it. The revolutionary technology is already accesible to one of the Council races.

Ashley is one of the few sensible people in the crew unlike Shepard who's far too trusting of people and has the IQ of an empty beer bottle.

Not to be confused with say "The US creating the ultimate mobile weapon and then letting someone recruit a team to run it and they recruit a China-man, Two Taliban War Hero's and an Ex-Soviet KGB agent.  And, then you call the one American that has the balls to say "You really think we should be letting all these cultures that wish to destroy the USA on board?"  as a racist?   Really?

Replace black people with Russians, Normandy with any US vessel and place it shortly after the Cold War.

We are not talking about nationalities, we are talking about races. As well, the first contact war was nothing more than a misunderstanding. She also doesn not want Wrex walking around the ship even though the Krogan never were at war with humanity.

right becasue random Krogan you pick up on a citadel while he's having altrecation with law inforsment and admits to being a mercenary - has a place on a military experimental vessel.  yep

and first contact war might seem like misunderstanding to you, but it was still war.  people died.  national tensions are not exactly over (guess which council member is the one most against allowing shepard to become a spectre?  take a wild guess)

Tali is even more random.

At big bad wolf.  well, how about this?  sure the other is not weariong a backpack and you meet them i na wild, but alien animal ftw.. that has a lot of similarities to a keeper.  whadya know

I can't believe I never figured  out that the first contact war is probably where the Turian councilor's dislike for Shepard comes from. It all makes sense now! Now I'm less likely to punch him in the face if I see him again in Mass Effect 3.:D

I have no problems with Ashley. She speaks my mind better than what I can get Shepard to say (stupid conversation wheel).

First off being on the ship means that they could gain access to the ships specs. Just because we don't see a character do something doesn't mean that they couldn't or wouldn't. For example, Wrex is a bounty hunter for hire. If someone learned that he was staying on the SR1 all they would have to do is hire Wrex give him a device that hacks into the Normandy's network to retrieve the data(similar to the Noveria:espionage mission) and they'd have access to classified alliance technology.

Secondly, the turians help build the Normandy but the part i am referring to the Tantulus drive core, which allows the normandy to cloak itself, was developed specifically by the Alliance.

Went with Ashley in Mass Effect, Miranda in ME2.

Ashley comes across as sort of a redneck in my eyes. Racist, religious, loves her guns. She's like "one of the boys", although her reading poetry and whatnot gives her some more depth.

Miranda, on the other hand, is her polar opposite, except on the racist bit (at least at first, being Cerberus and whatnot). Where Ash is religious, Miranda is scientifical, yaddayadda.

Damn, it's going to be a tough choice. Looking forward to the confrontation between 'em. 8)

Or they could just do the same thing with a human crew member who already has access to the ship data. Like the guy Tali works with in the engine room.

And you think the turians took no notice of the Tantalus drive core? I figured they at least took a look at it, considering they also know it's a stealth ship.

I'm cautious about liara, can't tell if she is honest about not being with feron and the fact that she is becoming increasingly violent.

She's becoming her mother.
