I don't think it's in a vacuum, at least it shouldn't be, otherwise the glass, the assassin, and the mattress should be flying out of the broken window.
Breaking the window wouldn't turn off the artificial gravity.

If something can get sucked out of a broken window on an airplane flying at 30,000 feet despite gravity, then the explosive decompression in a vacuum is going to be more than enough to cause the glass to explode outward.

I just hope if this does make it into the game and it's Shepard one-on-one with someone like Kai Leng that it doesn't turn into one of those fast-button-tap sequences that have gotten more popular in recent years than I'd like.

I want it to be of Vasir epicness!
Isn't it sad that I find a mini boss fight more compelling than the final boss? I felt an odd sense of power when I took her down.. it felt like an honest to goodness fight

Yeah, that'd bring in too much of the "mainstream" element people will then rage about... I don't think the cutscene (if it will be there in the first place) will be interactive, just a plot-turner at most. Kinda like the Collectors abducting the crew in 2. Or Cerberus might be unleashing a frontal assault on the Normandy, while this guy "sneaks in" from behind. Or I don't know. Something

The only thing that will get sucked out is your fly-plan.
Explosive decompression is the exact same shoe as exploding cars. A car won't even explode if you shoot the tank with incendiary rounds ...

Too cheap a move and too risky for the boards' integrity
I don't think the LI will need a bullet to die in a decompressed room, though.

Sam Fisher-esque Mark and Execute Unstoppable Rage Mode?
Enemies being mere quicktime events as Shepard massacres those foolish enough not to hide from his wrath whilst he pursues that murderer?
Naw, ... but if you mean full Alpha Mode as in "Screw the Reapers, Ima go kick this guy's arse so hard, he'll be coughing up boot polish - if he survives", then I am in!

I think it would add to the tension near the end of the game, perhaps when they planetside so it won't decompress.LGTX wrote...

For a majority of the time, that window is covered by armor. As stated several times, windows are completely redundant on modern starships, and are only installed for the sake of crew morale and keeping the romance of space alive.Robhuzz wrote...
The fact that someone is able to smash through a window of a starship (not your avarage home or car window) while in space tells me this is just that, a piece of concept art.
Also, breaking the glass will not compromise on-board systems. Atmosphere is contained by mass effect fields at all time regardless of hull integrity, as evident in the Oculus boss fight.

I also would like a similar system when on hub worlds both friendly and not Cerberus, those the player crosses in game will attack shep in various strengths and in various methods randomly throughout the game so I'm on a safe hub world in my civis minding my own business and bam drug lords I pissed off 8 worlds ago are here with pistols drawn trying to kill me. Later on in game I'm back on the same world and I get attacked by a sniper from Cerberus w/o warning he's trying to kill me! We have to seek cover and figure out where he's coming from before he kills us all.
A few scripted ones wouldn't hurt like shep sleeping in a hub world apartment he bought and badguy #186 blows the windows out shep has to survive while whomever he bought with him storms in as reinforcements.

Easy fix. Make it a game-variable:
If too much focus on Anti-Reaper missions, Cerberus makes your life hell.
If too much focus on Anti-Cerberus missions, Reapers wreck your ****.
If too undecided, both will crack their shots at you.
Doesn't need to ultimately be your LI, it can be other major Characters that get pwned/killed when in abstinence (Thane, Wrex, Anderson, LI, other permanent Squadmembers that were out on a mission for themselves).
Getting a perfect score would require careful balancing. No longer "Do everything and you get everyone out alive" or "Do nothing and hope you get to kill off some mates" like in the "suicide" mission.
Do too much of this, people you like die. Do too little of that, people you like die, don't grant enough focus on stuff and more people you like die - hard.

There's just this teensy tiny hole in your idea...Destroy Raiden wrote...
My fav type of subjects. Though this was bought up OP way long ago on the ME2 boards and it's been partially discussed here and there but it's good to have it back. I'd love to have random attacks that would occur just because we're running about not on missions. For instance way back when I recommended that they do random space battles that occur only after players reenter star systems several times so it's not every time for instance random space attack by reapers, Cerberus, or whomever else hates shep at the time will attack the Normandy in Citadel star system varies between every 4 - 7 times. The variation is so me as the player can't just plan ahead so I'm ready to go every 4th revised to a place I know I'm getting attacked its to add unpredictability.
The Normandy is a stealth vessel.
