I'm almost certain that if they survived, Garrus and Tali will be avaliable from the very beginning. or at least on the ship. Considering they could be dead in several people's games, writing a proper introduction would require a lot of time. Just having them start off on the ship is easier, and makes more sense.

liara might require a bit more of an introduction. We'll probably meet her near the beginning, but not at the very beginning.

I think we'll also get some optional companions on later missions. I'm thinking something like you fight alongside a specific Turian in the Turian level, who will offer to travel with you when you complete the mission. Same with the Quarians, Krogan, and other races.

Tali will most likely be on the admiralty board for her efforts. Remember that in ME2 the admiralty board is down one vote because her dad died and they are trying to fill that spot for a vote in ether for war against the geth or for peace with the geth.

Tali's not even military. She won't be made an Admiral.

The flotilla has a civilian government as well, though it's not really seen in the game.

Here's what I hope happens to Liara, She's semi-there from the begining feeding us intel, when the Shadow Broker base gets attacked. She manages to destroy the reaper attacking her, but loses the base in the process. Luckily, she manages to get a distress call out as soon as the reaper enters her system. Obviously, we pick it up, and help her fight off the reaper (thus making us partially responsible for destroying the base). As the SBB is blowing up, Shepard, Liara, other squad mate, and possibly Feron leap onto the Normandy.

Kind of hard to be on the admiralty board if you're exiled, which is true for some playthroughs. I doubt she'll be in the Flotilla at all though. There's no reason for her not to be on the Normandy if she survived.

Thats a pretty damn accurate prediction I bet.

we might have to kill the reaper though....

I'm totally down with that intro. I just hope she kept her contacts and Shadow broker info intact. I'd love to go into her Room on the Normandy and be surrounded by computer screens. The shadow broker's gotta work right? haha

This could be one of the conciquences of getting her exiled. You will not be able to stop the war with the geth. Casey Hudson says that depending on the choices you made in the other games you may not be able to solve a problem in ME3 at all. BTW if she is not exiled then she can do more for you on the flotilla. Tali has more knowlege of the geth then anyone....so....even not being a admrial she may infact be on the admrialty board.....Cause who else is going to fill that spot????

I personally think that Tali will be called back to the fleet if she isn't exiled.

Garrus will either be on the Normandy in the beginning, On the Citadel talking to the Council for you (becoming a spectre, Fingers crossed), or on Palaven.

Wrex will still be on Tuchanka as will Grunt,

Liara will be on the Shadow Broker ship. But it will come under attack and you will have to rescue her.

Mordin will be on Sur'Kesh,

Samara will be on Thessia,

Legion will be with the Migrant Fleet (The reason I think this is because there are several videos where it shows Legion with the Admiralty Board in what appears to be a war conferense room, They are probably destroying Heretics on the Quarian Homeworld.)

Thane will be on the Citadel with Koylat probably in a hospital bed dying.

Ash/Kaidan and Vega will be on the Normandy in the beginning

Miranda will probably be on an Alliance space station with Miranda in charge of an Operation there and Jacob will be a Corsair again. (Where else are gonna go now that they quit Cerberus)

Jack will be on Omega.

Zaeed will be on a random planet hunting Vido (if he's still alive)

Kasumi will be on Illium laying low with her grey box.

Prothy will be on Mars. (I really hope he's real and looks like a collector. I'd love one of those on my squad)

These seem like the most logical places for them to be imo.

I don't understand why they would all be in other places. The Normandy wasn't destroyed, Shepard didn't die, so they should all still be a part of the Normandy crew, right? If my crewmates just started disappearing one by one when the Reapers are about to invade, I think I'd be a little mad.

I think you might be a bit hard pressed to find a Batarian willing to work with Shepard after he/she killed over 300 thousand of them. Not saying it can't happen, but it'd better have a good reason to overlook that.

how about the fact that the galaxy is under attack by sentient starships and extinction is possible?

I know. It does make more sense for them to have just stayed on the ship but Bioware will say "they had things to do and went off on their own". It would be too easy if the whole crew was on ur ship from the beginning.

Plus, by ME3 it's been 7 months to a year since the SM. So they probably would have gone off to do whatever they could to prepare for the reapers.

You have to figure there was some amount of time that passed between ME2 and ME3 if the Alliance was able to take apart the Normandy and then put it back together. Why would all of your squaddies sit there and wait for your trial. If I was Shepard I would be pretty ticked off if my whole team wassitting there waiting for me. I mean sure, support is awesome, but I would rather have them out there doing things to prepare for the attack.

Plus for other obvious reasons, I'm pretty sure many of the people who are wanted wouldn't want to risk getting locked up.

Garrus has been with Shepard since day 1 so I assume he will be the first who joins again after the Earth is attacked.

I'd love Garrus to have an awesome entrance again like ME2 but sadly it will be very hard to top the Archangel routine.

I'd also expect that party members of alien races might be trying to convince their respective races to prepare for the coming turdstorm or doing something individually to prepare. If Shep's been sitting in jail for six months awaiting trial, then it doesn't make sense for them to sit on their collective keisters waiting for the invasion.

I think that he will ask permission, in order to return to Palaven, to see his sister and his sick mother.
