I started playing the Witcher 3 years ago and then only because I heard it was based on the NWN engine. It was very different and I didn't like it very much. I found the combat hard and knew nothing about the story but I reached Chapter 3 before I stopped playing. The game's grown on me since and the strange thing is I installed it again just to play the Outskirts chapter because it reminded me of Canada (my native land). I live in the desert now and the scenery was what hooked me; there's alot of running around and I even enjoy the rain. I play it very slowly listening to all the NPCs who are fully voiced and I also really like the music in it. All that being said, the story isn't dull but I haven't played many RPGs to really know enough to really compare. Just my two cents here. I've read reviews where the Witcher is praised to the skies and I was rather surprised to see here that some people don't like it at all. I tried the Witcher 2 but it's really hard to get the hang of the controls so I'll just stick to the Witcher 1.
Time and eternity a JRPG that summes up everything wrong with JRPG's with none of the good points.

Are you from the future?
That made me laugh more than it should have.
As a whole I enjoyed the Xenosaga trilogy. I can definitely see why XS2 would end up on some peoples list for worst RPG though.
I actually had a lot of fun with the combat in XS2 personally, in particular seeing how high I could get the combos going. I was kind of happy when I was able to beat the final boss without him receiving any actual turns because of cheap combo strings
Oblivion..
God awful floaty combat
Terrible story elements (characters, dialogs, writing..)
Boring copy & paste environments & dungeons
Horrible rpg mechanics/systems
Lame/generic enemy design & weak enemy variety
No reactivity in the world
the Game of Thrones RPG, hands down. Most of the games already listed here are nowhere near this poor.
Final Fantasy X-2, XII and XIII
Suikoden 2 (yes, 2)
Ultima IX
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Fallout 3
Mass Effect 3

?? I'll rephrase this. I started playing the Witcher 1, 3 years ago... I can see how it may have seemed like: I started playing Witcher 3, years ago...LOL.

Kingdom Hearts 2 (Why Square Whyyyy!?!?)
Saw that coming.

Agggghhhhhh!!! MAKE IT STOP! WHY DO PEOPLE DO THAT!?

Suikoden 2 (yes, 2)
Are you sure you don't mean 4? Even 4 wasn't that bad. I'm rather curious as to how anyone could put Suikoden 2 on a "worst RPG list". Or any Suikoden, really. Maybe Tierkreis for the DS. No, not even Tierkreis. 'Splain yourself, please. ![]()
As for me, uhh.... I didn't particularly enjoy FFXIII, but I still finished it and bought XIII-2, so I guess I didn't hate it. I'm not in any rush to play Lightning Returns, though.
Drakkhen for the SNES was a bit of a chore, but again, I still finished it.
Oh. Tecmo's Secret of the Stars. That was bad. How bad? One of the villains' names was BadBad. Yeah.

I really hated The Witcher, so I'll go with that. Sorry, I just didn't like it. Nor the sequel.
I don't think I've played nearly as many games as some people here. Of the relatively recent crop that I have played, I'm not sure there are too many I'd call especially *bad*, but there have been a few that just didn't hold my attention enough for me to complete them.
I never did get that far in Oblivion, nor did I finish Dragon Age. For one, I just don't like "sword and sorcery" all that much. Oblivion gave me a huge world to explore, but the story just felt like yet another iteration of Mysterious Villains Summoning The Ancient Evil, and I felt like it was asking me to embrace a vaguely authoritarian outlook at times. Dragon Age was a little better, but I found myself intellectually appreciating the characters and conflicts rather than actually feeling engaged by them.
Far Cry: Blood Dragon was amusing in its intentionally over-the-top, self-parodying "macho" cliches, and I did like the FC3 combat system. But the graphics crossed the line from being stylishly dark and foggy into "I wish I could actually *see* what I'm looking at" and had some sort of bug on my computer that made this weird blue overlay appear in places. Once I took a break from it, I had no real desire to go back to it. It's a gimmicky story that you're not really supposed to care about except to laugh at its excesses, I suppose, but that leaves me without much reason to keep playing once the appeal of the action starts to wear off and/or the quirks of the graphics get too annoying.
If they count as rpgs then Morrowind and Oblivion. No sense of purpose with a shallow afterthought story led to me just not getting into them. Backed up by terribly poor gameplay with broken scaling (Oblivion) or cludgy painful transport mechanics (Morrowind) led to me simply not understanding why people like them so much.
Oblivion
Fook that shee
Kingdom Hearts 2 (Why Square Whyyyy!?!?

Why you gotta keep doing this, guy?
Well the forum asked for the worst rpgs I played. It's not like I went off topic, unless Kingdom Hearts 2 isn't considered a rpg. In my opinion it really isn't a rpg but I thought you guys would disagree. It seemed more of an action adventure to me. Give your thoughts.

I knew there was a reason I didn't bother with a replay.

Because Jowy Atreides was the most idiotic character in RPG history, with his betrayal being hall-of-fame caliber stupid. Also, I wanted to strangle Nanami.
I actually didn't hate IV too much. I liked I and loved III and V.
