Not only was the game bad but it was an absolute SHAMELESS rip-off of the classic and far FAR superior Lunar games.

Tales of Legendia -- I could not get through the first 30 minutes for the main character break dancing after every battle. It drove me mad.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope -- I've never hated the protagonist as much as I hated Edge. He did everything wrong in every way he possibly could. I hated him so much I started rooting for the other side, which should never happen in a video game!

The worse game ever! An empty room is more entertaining.

I should've remember adding that to my list. The gameplay and graphics felt incredibly dated. Sorry Tri-Ace, it wasn't enough.

Naughty.....did you hear about...Borderlands 2?
Yes, but I really couldn't stand the first one.
Mainly because I found the character of Claptrap extremely annoying - every time he came on the screen I wanted to throw my shoe at him due to his irritating, corny dialogue.

2. FF IX (umm... I loved FFVII, FF VIII was rather meh, but IX? how come it's suddenly a game for small children? Admittedly I didn't play any FF beyond that, so there might have been worse FF chapters issued afterwards.)
3. Arcania: Gothic 4 (well, technically I have just played the demo... but that + reviews was more than enough to see how they ruined such a great franchise)

*gasp* Sacrilege.
Oblivion was one of the best of it's time.
And I don't see how it's simplified. The mechanics are almost the same.
And I must say, I really liked Fable especially the 3rd. It's not detailed and stat heavy but it's fun and they really nailed the everyday hero life sim aspect.

I agree that Oblivion was boring and generic. It was dumbed down from Morrowind the environments weren't special and gamebryo is such an ugly engine.
This is why I'm skeptical of Skyrim and hopefully it's good. Because the only reason Oblivion is worth playing is for the mods and you can't take that into account when judging Oblivion.

"Almost" would be the keyword here. Can you fly in Oblivion? Move at blazing speed? What the heck happened to enchantment? I think some spell effects were gone as well, though I don't remember exactly.
Can you fluidly fly into a city area and through the districts? I remembe having fun, flying around some high city in Morrowind.
The world is much smaller and far less varied.
Character development mechanics could have been similar, but at least the enemies didn't level with you in Morrowind, so you weren't penalized for gaining levels....
And this whole Cyrodill lacks style with it's generic-ness. And these awesome random treasures....

It's the lore, each land in Tamriel has a theme going. Morrowind was set in Morrowind, the Dunmer land which was designed to be somehwat odd and alien. Cyrodiil is the Imperial Capital so it was designed to be grand and majestic.
And "ugly"? It was the benchmark for PCs of the time, people drooled over the screenshots, I wholeheartedly disagree with that statement.
^Fly? What are you talking about? Unless you were cheating or modding your stats, flying and moving extra fast was never a feature in Morrowind. And you can still cheat your stats in Oblivion much the same way(there's also a mod which lets you fly Dragons:happy:)

Two Worlds - I'm pretty sure it's the worst game I've played, not just worst RPG.
I would go with Two Worlds except at points it was so bad as to rise to the level of entertaining! The Voice Acting alone is worth playing the Game for because it's just hysterical! And why was your Sister dressed that way in the Game?
I would have to say Oblivion for me because I really enjoyed Morrowind (1st real Open-World PC game I played) and there were virtually NO changes made to the Gameplay or Levelling. Add to that the stupid looking "talking heads" and continual re-use of Oblivion Gate layouts and I couldn't find a minute of fun in Oblivion.

Of course I could fly in Morrowind. Via a spell. No, it wasn't a mod. I didn't install any mods or even buy any of the expansions. That was vanilla game. I think levitate might have been the name of the effect... same thing really.

Technically, those are jump and/or levitation spells. But yeah, Morrowind had it and Oblivion didn't.
Scrolls of Icarian Flight, too.
"Sweet!"
"WWWEEEEEEEEE!!!"
"Haha! YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHH-"
"Whoa wait... wait..."
"OH CRAP!"
"OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP! OH CRAP!"
*splat*
Of course, you just make yourself a Slowfall spell and Scrolls of Icarian Flight gives the meaning away more or less. But still hilarious.
Oh umm... worst RPG I played..
I don't know.
I did play Arcania (Gothic 4) though, so I think that it gets an instant mention.

There was a Potion in Morrowind Vanilla for flight, as well...I can't remember what was in it, but I remember mixing them up and using them.
Yeah the very first time I played I found the guy who drops down from the sky with the Scroll of Icarian Flight.
I hopped around the continent for a while and then went back to playing Oblivion and didn't play Morrowind again for another year or so.
