Assassin Specialization ... Seriously??

For 4 levels now.
And it's unlocked by Zevram?
...really...
that guy from 25 saves ago?
Oh I know there's some manual that unlocks after some landsmeet in another 10 levels .... but what you're saying is that the specialization was seriously buried in dialog with what seemed like an incedental footnote character of zero consequence.
....wow.....
I've never had such enjoyment of a game come to such a complete screeching halt.
Alright ... enough of this crap ... on to AC2...

Last. ALWAYS keep save games available from different points, for example I highly recomend saving before you save the queen, so that you can choose to be captured and see how effective (or ineffective) party members can try to talk past guards to rescue you.

Yet some people can't spell it.

Its not as if the names are Bob, John, Melinda, James, or other traditional names. I still mispell Orzamar, and possibly Morrigan (two rs?).
But if you read the OP. You should know that he killed Zevran. Therefore did not see his name but for a brief moment in time. do you know the girls name who lost her brother in redcliff off the top of your head. Or the knight and the rogue from ostagar who died in the ritual. In his game Zevran has a much shorter appearance than either of those.
And also, as the previous posters mentioned. If you REALLY were planning on being an assassin, and you captured an assassin, and had the option to talk to him, don't you think you should actually not just slit his throat?

I for example didnt have a spirit healer until denerum, because when Wynn met me in the tower she gave me some lip, and I told her I didn't care to have her following me around while I saved the tower. She attacked me, I killed her. Next playthrough however, I had spirit healer at level 7.
No game is going to be designed so that you can just click any button you wish at any point and still have everything turn out exactly as you planned.

Yeah, because that's different to Shapeshifter, Spirit Healer, Berserker, Templar or Bard...Tankenminnet wrote...
If you don't know he's a companion from the start, there really is no reason to spare him. You can't blame a player for not reading up extensively on the game. I also think the whole assassin unlock is stupid- in order to be an assassin, you need to let another rogue join you and gain approval and ****, just to learn the unlock. After the landsmeet is done the game is practically over anyway, you'll be lucky if you level up twice.
Poor design indeed, I was disappointed too.
And I'm not sure of the relevance of "Landsmeet" to this. I'm pretty sure Zevran is one of the first random encounters you get.

It cannot possibly be the shapechanger! Oh, my, my world is turned upside-down! Nothing makes sense anymore!Maria Caliban wrote...
Yes, who would think an ASSASSIN sent to kill you, who says he's part of the Antivan Crows, Thedas' most famous group of ASSASSINS might unlock the ASSASSIN specialization?
I'd have never seen that coming. Not in a million.

Ser Jory and Daveth respectively, that took me 2 seconds to remember and i haven't seen them for 35 hours of play time.

It's much better for the game for RP'ing reasons to have an ASSASSIN teach you the specialization than just wait till Level ? and magically you're an assassin.

A dev confirmed that's because the way she became a spirt healer is non-standard, and she doesn't understand it well enough to teach it.

And all of that is pretty ****ty design too, but most of them have manuals you can get relatively early on, thank god. The Landsmeet is practically just the final part of the game, so unlocking anything by then is so fruitless and pointless.
