Recently I discovered that my TV was supported HD. So I hooked up the HDTV cables (the various colored ones) to the back of my Samsung, and raised the resolution to 1080i. This was when I was doing another ME1 playthrough [I think fifth], and everything looked amazing. Once I finished the playthrough I had decided to import the ME1 character, then do a few ME2 playthroughs.

But once I started playing I noticed that the texture of the Human/Asari skin was very bumpy. Also, shadows were acting very wierd. These were the only changes I noticed too when the resolution went HD, so I wasn't too impressed. Later on while seeing the game's specs on my the Xbox Dashboard I saw that it said that the game only supported 420p, of course I lowered. Nothing seemed to change.

 I have a few questions:

1.] Is the skin supposed ot be bumpy in HD?

2.] If not; is my TV/Xbox/etc nonfunctional? Note: I'm not using the single thick HDMI cable..

3.] Can it support 1080i?

So, you've been playing your games (~4 ME1 play throughs) in standard definition this whole time when you had an HDTV all along?

Mass Effect 2 natively supports 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. And even if it didn't, your Xbox will scale it to whatever you tell it to. One thing I would check is to make sure you have your screen resolutioin setup properly on your Xbox.

I'm not sure what you mean by "bumpy." Skin has texture in the game, but nothing really stands out as being unnatural. However, ME2 textures have glitched out on me before. Shepard has scars when you start the game. Is that what you mean? You can look here at screenshots of the game to see if the game looks how it's supposed to.

All else fails, you can try the Xbox on another TV to maybe rule out the TV and help try to narrow down the issue.
