Omega mission? Was there something bad there?

No I was saying the opposite. The Omega Mission was great...right up until the Baby Reaper reveal.

You mean the Omega-4 relay? why not call it the Suicide Mission?

^ heh yea that confused me >.>

Got to agree, the Baby Reaper was a /facepalm moment. It pretty much threw me out of Game immersion.

And frankly, having a baby is my personal worst nightmare, so that mob should have been a lot scarier than that... Like maybe having FemShep change its diaper - THAT would be scary.

Pretty much any game (there are a ton of Japanese games that do this) where the player and his companions fight the final Big Bad and it's.... Wait for it....God. Meh.

As much as I love Mortal Kombat, the series is littered with these. One example that jumps to mind is when Shao Khan gets assassinated by the Deadly Alliance (two of the smartest bad guys in MKverse) and it turns out that it was a fake. I suppose all the ways that various characters were brought back to life could also count.

For a more recent example that I'm sure many people remember quite clearly, dear old Meredith and the lyrium idol.
Though, I'm undecided whether that or Orsino nonsensically going all Blood Magic takes the cake.
Let's just say Act 3 of DA2. :)

Well this I don't understand. Lore wise the Reapers were building a humanish reaper. Using it ruins immersion for me seems like a "I don't like X" type around here.

I think the idea of building a reaper using humans actually is a kind of neat concept. Making it actually look like a human was kind of silly.

At the very least they should've made the humanoid features more subtle. This concept is much better.

Jade Empire not far from the start of the game where you are told by your Master how you are now old enough to enter a secret cave where you'll learn of your true purpose which he has hidden from you all your life until now. Wonderfull where is this cave? IN HIS HOUSE! Yes he randomly uncovers the entrance to this secret cave in his house. Wouldn't people have noticed a huge cave entrance hidden behind the drapes or something? I was expecting to leave the village to do some quest when a door opened and the cave was revealed to be in his house i just burst out laughing and found the rest of the game very hard to take seriously.

The "Metal Gear Solid" series has several moments that fit this criteria. Those games had some of the worst plot points I have ever seen, in any medium ever. The worst had to be Revolver Ocelot. I remember when I saw Liquid Snake possess him for the first time... through a hand implant. -.- First I was dumbstruck. Then I laughed. Finally I facepalmed and tried to pretend it never happened. Stick to the MGS series, Kojima. At least then your atrocious writing can be confined to a narrow space.

Come on, MGS's terrible writing is part of its charm. Play it enough times and eventually you start to like it for how ridiculous it is.

ITS the greetest game EVAR because it has STEALTH and ummm 2 hour cutscenes and ummm  makes no sense.
Yeah my days of defending the MGS series are over I finished 4 finally and I don't even have a T-shirt.

The ending of Divinity II: Ego Draconis. It is revealed you've been played for a fool the entire time and by winning the game you actually handed the Uber Bad Guy his ultimate victory.

You made it through that whole game?  You are a saint.
I found the gameplay to be quite painful, and couldn't bring myself to play past the first half hour.

Well if you stick around with it, it gets better and then you see how much of a gem it is. The dragon stuff though? That didn't feel impressive but I liked the role playing, quests and characters. The Dragon Knight Saga might suit you because it's a revamped version of the entire game and contains the expansion which ends the story.

Though I'll admit, both the endings (full game and expansion) aren't really good. I hear the ending for Beyond Divinity was good though and I think that entire game was written by Terry Patrichit's daughter, so maybe that explains why it has a better ending than all the other games in the series.

The main character being made more integral to the story - "special", if you will - because of his father, in about half of all games ever made. The amount of times I've seen this one come across... and it still makes me cringe every single time I see one of these happen: from Star Wars to Tales of Symphonia, from Metal Gear to Gears of War... What's even worse is that these revelations usually happen no sooner than two-thirds into the story, when said main characters has already established himself as integral through his actions.

How is that one of the worst plot twists? That was pure genius and a breath of fresh air. The first time i finished Div 2 i just sat there staring dumfounded at the screen and then i started laughing, bravo Larian for having the cahonies to try that.

Yeah they did not explain much in the game . But with the book and the sequel it's was making sense.(diablo)
The Baby reaper . The fight was not making any sense either.he was blasting gamma wave to you .. and all you had to protect you was a shaky platform ..

It is one of the worst plot twists considering Larian's writers habitually took that route in their stories. The Divinity series is infamous for its bad endings. Flames of Vengeance was the first time a player character was allowed much success, and only after tremendous fan backlash... for three games... in a row.

It's hard to take a boss battle seriously when it's spitting out fireballs and it's only weak points are labelled "weak point" as its name. It wasn't a huge dissapointment, but BioWare certainly got the fan feedback on that one for sure. Then again, it could've been jumping around like crazy, shooting rockets at you.

Haze.

Start off working for the evil corporation harvesting the planet; see the light and join the rebels to save nature; finally defeat the evil corporation and then 'oh snap!', the rebels are evil too... Game over.

*sigh*. Nuke it from orbit never sounded better.

Planescape: Torment when the Diva betrays the... Oh, you said the worst plot twists. I would have to agree with everyone else about the MGS series even though it's my favorite action game.

 Nathan “Rad”
Spencer of Bionic Commando. A total wtf it turned out that his wife truly was his better half. Towards the end of the game, a superior informs Spencer that his wife never truly left, but became his left… arm. In order for the bionics to work, Spencer’s arm had to be manufactured using his spouse because love is what makes the science happen. Make me  wonder if Nathan’s wife would’ve sacrificed him for a bionic boob job if she knew how much of a whiny punk he’d become.

I liked the premise of this idea actually.

The premise reminded me a bit of NGE, though Bionic Commando's way of narrating it isn't on the same level...

Kotor. Not bad enough to kill the game, but first thing I thought after learning about the reveal is if hitting Palpatine hard enough on the head would also give him a blank slate. Dark Side got even more cheapened, after beign already turned into a revolving door.

I HATED it when Ganondof turned out to be the final boss of Zelda ONCE AGAIN in Zelda The Twilight Princess.

Seriously, Ganondorf should have stayed out of that game. Zelda TTP would have been much more epic with Zant as the only main antagonist. The fact that near the end of Zelda TTP the main plottwist was that Ganondorf was behind EVERYTHNG (as usual) and "the great evil Zant" turned out to be just a dumb puppet from Ganondorf really ruined a great Zelda game for me.

Pft but its not a Zelda game if your not killing Ganon/Ganondorf.

Stupid Minda breaking the mirror pft its clear she had feelings for Link, while leaving him at the mercies of a whiping woman.
