Pft but its not a Zelda game if your not killing Ganon/Ganondorf.
FALSE.
Zelda Majora's Mask is one of the BEST Zelda games EVER made and it didn't have Ganondorf in it AT ALL.
Other Zelda games without Ganondorf are:
- Zelda Phantom Hourglass
- Zelda Spirit Tracks
- Zelda Links Awakening
- Zelda Four Swords
- Zelda The Minish Cap
Zelda Twilight Princess should have been more like the games I listed above. No Ganondorf. Zelda TP would have been much much better without Ganondorf.

Besides doesn't really matter we are talking about a reborn hero and magical gods with triangles for petes sake.

You're not a real hardcore Zelda fan, are you? I am. I'm a super Zelda geek.
Yes, those games ARE real. And Zelda Link's Awakening is one of the best Zelda games ever (of course Zelda Ocarina of Time and Zelda Majora's Mask are on top).
Major's Mask had nothing to do with Link's time-traveling in Zelda Ocarina of Time. It's currently unknown where Termina exactly is and how it is related to Hyrule. I think Termina is in an alternative dimension, but we might never know.
Ganondorf in TP was cheap and the plot didn't make sense. Well, the plot made a littlebit sense if you take TP's story as a seperate story, but as a sequel to OoT and MM it had major retcons and it didn't make sense at all.
Ganondorf's presence in TP felt cheap and forced. TP would have been better without him. TP should have kept Zant als the main antagonist. That is my opinion and many hardcore Zelda nerds agree with me.

Ganondorf's original evil laugh from Zelda Ocarina of Time was awesome.
Ganondorf's evil laugh in Zelda The Wind Waker was EPIC.
Ganondorf's moronic laugh in Zelda Twilight Princess was pathetic and gay.

Would Majora's Mask be any less awesome if the skull kid was being controlled by Ganon?
Yes. The fact that Ganondorf wasn't the antagonist in Zelda MM felt refreshing and new. It's because of that and the amazing game-design of MM that makes MM one of the best Zelda games ever made, next to Zelda OoT.

You don't even know Ganon's there till the very end. Hell one little line of dialog saying that Ganon made the masks or something would've changed nothing about the game.
Seriously we're talking Zelda here the story is almost ignorable last thing I care about is who the main villian is just as long as the boss fight is fun!

In the PS1 game I saw the big plot twist coming (because of all the clues) but had no choice but to play along and help the bad guys...Seagloom wrote...
The "Metal Gear Solid" series has several moments that fit this criteria. Those games had some of the worst plot points I have ever seen, in any medium ever. The worst had to be Revolver Ocelot. I remember when I saw Liquid Snake possess him for the first time... through a hand implant. -.- First I was dumbstruck. Then I laughed. Finally I facepalmed and tried to pretend it never happened. Stick to the MGS series, Kojima. At least then your atrocious writing can be confined to a narrow space.
I tried shooting Liquid Snake with the Sniper Rifle right into his bare chest but the bullets just bounced off his plot armour..

Well I guess we have to agree to disagree there.
The Zelda games where always more relying on gameplay than narrative (which is pretty obvious if you realize that every new Zelda game basically tells the same story over and over and over again) but that doesn't mean Aonuma and Miyamoto should talke the cheap way out and just throw in Ganondorf as the final boss in each and every Zelda game.
I'm honestly fine with Ganondord as the main antagonist (Ganondorf is awesome) but don't use him for a cheap-o "plot twist". Ganondorf should either have been the main antagonist in TP from the very start without Zant (or with Zant clearly acting as his servant from the very beginning), or Ganondorf shouldn't have been in TP at all.
The fact that Zant was portrayed as an evil genius at the beginning of Zelda TP but turned out to be a dumb desperate puppet of Ganondorf really just made me sad. Zelda TP had potential to be ORIGINAL like Zelda MM and Zelda LA but instead they chose to take the cheap way out with Ganondorf as a "plot twist".

It's a shame that Nintendo is so keen on basically recreating the same story time and again, though. Or rather how the fanbase not only puts up with it, but pretty much glorifies them for doing so.

I HATED it when Ganondof turned out to be the final boss of Zelda ONCE AGAIN in Zelda The Twilight Princess.
Seriously, Ganondorf should have stayed out of that game. Zelda TTP would have been much more epic with Zant as the only main antagonist. The fact that near the end of Zelda TTP the main plottwist was that Ganondorf was behind EVERYTHNG (as usual) and "the great evil Zant" turned out to be just a dumb puppet from Ganondorf really ruined a great Zelda game for me.
This, although it didn't ruin the game for me. Zant was fresh and it was great having a new antagonist. Then its revealed that he's a weak, whining wuss who was given power to cause trouble...by Ganondorf.
I wish Ganondorf would have stayed forever in limbo between dimensions, by himself, forever clinging to the Triforce Piece of Power. Talk about damnation...

Well not me brother, not me.
As I said, I loved Zelda Marjora's Mask and Zelda Link's Awakening for doing something different WITHOUT Ganondorf.
Seriously, as much as I LOVE Zelda (especially for it's amazing gameplay and fantastic aesthetics) I would LOVE it even more to see something NEW again WITHOUT Ganon, like Zelda Majora's Mask.
So far the upcomming Zelda Skyward Sword looks promising. It does have the master sword in it, but not Ganondorf (I hope).

It is one of the worst plot twists considering Larian's writers habitually took that route in their stories. The Divinity series is infamous for its bad endings. Flames of Vengeance was the first time a player character was allowed much success, and only after tremendous fan backlash... for three games... in a row.
How does Divine Divinity have a bad ending? If im remembering right ( its been years) it ends with you killing the demon and carrying Damian the baby out of the crypt...thats it . In Beyond Divinity you find out that you were teamed up with Damian himself which i thought was a great conclusion to the game and really showed how devious and manipulative Damian really is. After all it seems people get confused, the Divinity series is and has never been about you the player but Damian.

I mean really, all the screaming and fire, and when of note gunfire didn't give me that hint at all, hell I thought it was Mr Johnson down the street having a birthday bash. And well gee no need for you to die for me, I mean really the village is under attack, I think I'll sit here, drink some coco, do a crossword, because there is NO WAY they are out to kill me. I mean all of those other people laying face down in the dirt were just unlucky.

Meh the way I see it you either embrace nintendo's style or you don't.
Their style being continue with the same game series forever.
We will ALWAY havea new Zelda and Mario ect accepting that and accepting that Mario will ALWAYS face off against Bowser and that Link will almost ALWAYS face Ganon is just part of it. I've already said I don't play Nintendo games for the story so whats left is the gameplay. Thats the hook for me. As good as OoT's story was or how good the narrative in MM was it wouldn't have made a lick of difference for me if it was all gone. I don't hear anyone complain that Mario had to fight Bowser AGAIN!!!!
But yes I won't change your mind and you wont change mine so lets just do the disagreeing about agree thing.

Well I DO happen to AGREE with you on most of what you just said. But my point is that, Nintendo should make up their mind what their style really is.
If making the same game, over and over again, is their style, then they should have made Ganondorf the villain in Zelda TP from the very start.
If their style is trying to be original, then Ganondorf shouldn't have been present in Zelda TP at all.
Right now, TP feels like it tries to be both. TP tries to be original with Zant and the whole Twilight stuff, but yet at the same time it tries to stay classic and true to it's roots with Ganondorf being the final boss. To me, that felt cheap and weak.
But, in the end, I do agree that gameplay is Nintendo's strongest point. It's the amazing gameplay in combination with some really strong aesthetics that made me fall in love with the Zelda games. To bad that TP didn't really have strong aesthetics. And the gameplay was not as good as OoT, MM or TWW.

Dino Crisis - it had a sequel. New characters and returning ones, the plot was basically the same *add in some screwy time-travel twists, which are meh in itself*. And then ...
Enter Dino Crisis 3 - Yes, you're fighting dinosaurs again.
YEARS later ...
But they're like zombies.
In space.
