What would you like to see Dragon Age 3?

But class specializations like DA:O, or better should come back. I mean, you start as a mage, but can take specializations that allow access to unique powers outside that of what mages should be allowed to do. The arcane warrior is one such example. The shapeshifter is another. This allows far greater character customization, especially when combined with the ability to choose a race and origin.
Character customization is extremely important in an RPG, and one of the main things lacking in DA2. A rogue is a rogue is a rogue, the duelist and assassin specializations are useful, but they do not allow the rogue to expand beyond the box that defines the rogue.
That should be addressed.

I think Diablo has the best crafting system ever. Limitless possible outcomes like accessories, potion, armor, weapon etc... and best of all, purely customizable and addictive.otis0310 wrote...

Whatever it is, they should also add that as a race. I'd love to play a female one.
Then the prologue: each race starts in a different country and at the end of the prologue, they all end up in the same place.
How's that for scale?

Idea #1: When it comes time to choose a specialization like Blood Mage or Templar, I would like cut scenes to be added. For example, once you pick Blood Mage a brief cut scene plays and you see your character in the fade making a deal with a demon and then it ends. To me this would make the class seem more meaningful and not just obtaining another set of skills.
Idea # 2: Interaction between NPC's and the main character depending on the class type. For example if you are an archer walking through town, a child would come up to you and ask if they could try out you're bow. You could be nice and let them or tell them to go away.
Idea # 3: Build faction reputation. For example, if you did a quest for someone from Tevinter, at the end you would earn reputation and the interactions between you and other Tevinters would be different while other factions would react most hostile maybe?
I'm was just playing around with these ideas. Are they interesting to anyone?

I really like the idea of the faction reputation plus the more rep you build with them the more specific items like weps/armor that you can only get from that specific faction.

do not release in 2012 or 2013 or Q1,Q2,Q3 2014
an option for high complexity, not monster hitting harder/more hp, but all the hardcore rpg elements
----lore and puzzle requirements to get through the main campaign----
more customization at every level

My main concern however is...the fact that I want to play as a Warden. Doesnt have to be THE Warden just A Warden. Make it a specialization or something. Like the power of blood tree from DA:O Soldiers Peak. The spec being unique for each class. I was righteously pissed when I found out my sibling could become one but I couldnt! >

DA2 combat is where it should stay. I loved the fast paced nature of the combat that really sped things up but some of it made combat look pretty silly.
True enough ... I also share your love for the pace of the combat.. But the combat lacks class combo... In DA:O, class combo's are much better and have a wide variety to choose from.. And another thing that sucked about DA2's combat is the rogue's backstab ability.. I really think that "BACKSTAB" should NEVER be an activated ability since, well, when you stab your enemy's behind, THAT IS BACKSTABBING....

Good ideas.
#1: You could take it a step further and make quests for each spec that only pop up after you choose, and you don't become a full, say, Blood Mage until it is complete. Might get annoying after the first couple of times, but I suspect most people don't replay the same class AND spec over and over so it might have lasting appeal.
#2: This I would like to see. It brings your class choice into play, but you still get to decide the outcome.
#3: Already been done in other games and people love it. Why not add it to DA, it could certainly work.

... I loved the fast paced nature of the combat that really sped things up but some of it made combat look pretty silly. Like exploding enemies; ditch that a bring back deathblows. That was the main reason I played a Warrior. The swinging of the 2h seems a bith unrealistic too. If Im not mistaken warriors swing it with one hand? Its called a 2h weapon for a reason.... Also bring back the enemy classes...don't just leave them with auto attack and a generic ability. I miss the days in DA:O when I get chained scattershotted or shield bashed.
My main concern however is...the fact that I want to play as a Warden. Doesnt have to be THE Warden just A Warden. Make it a specialization or something. I agree with this excetpt the "fast paced nature of the combat". I felt it was much more satisfying to move my character into combat position at a normal speed for tactical reasons rather than zipping straight into a face to face contact. Plus bring back the finishing moves, they were so sweet to see the enemy's head lopped off or being swated back and forth like a rag doll.
And I would love to be able to unleash the level 30 power of my Warden for like two hours worth of game time. Please, please, please, please!

What I’d like to see is a larger number of potential
companions, maybe as many as twenty-five possible companions, but you can only
recruit six as active companions. The story unfolded quite differently
depending on which six you recruit. If a companion leaves or is killed, then
you can recruit a replacement and the story is enhanced. It would be normal,
expected for a companion or two to leave for one reason or another.
I'm going to be honest, I didn't read more then 10% of what you wrote. But this stuck out to me. This just screams out to me a huge NO. One of the reasons I love bioware's games (and what I guess is one of the contributing facors to their success) is becasue of the depth they give to their characters. I'm not saying there hasn't been flaws in their attempts, but for the most part, they pull it off.
Bearing this in mind, they would need to create less developed, more generic characters. Or devote a huge amount of resources to content that a large amount of players may not ever see.
Or take more time to develop the game. I'd rather see DA3 in 2014 if that what it takes to put out a quality product than a "just barely good enough" annual release schedule.
http://en.wikipedia....Skyrim#Gameplay - closer to what I have in mind than DA2. Something where you aren't just barrelling ahead from main quest to main quest but could ignore them for a 100+ hours and still have a fun. Something where there are so many variables at play that a few different decisions create a completeky different game.

- only enable the sustained ability if the current tactic is verified (if not it is auto-cancelled)
I feel this would free up tactic slots (and hopefully less strain on the engine) since players would generally not need to use multiple tactic slots for the same sustained abilities.
Example:
If you always want a sustained on simply using the "self : any" tactic would still suffice yet other conditions such as "self : mana/stamina>50%" for would auto cancel if the character is below this point.
- the option to have tactics still enabled for sustained abilities only if currently using the character
Perhaps have tactics that include the the "jump to" and "use current condition for next tactic" conditions as well. This would free up any hotbar slots for sustained abilities entirely (especially useful for the console style hotbar ui that only allows 6 abilities to be set) and minimize the time players need to micromanage the fighting style of the currently controlled character. I realize this would not appeal to everyone..or even all the time to some, so it should be an option that can be toggled at any time

So you'll get that, " Oh, it all makes sense now!" effect.
And in order to do this you'll need more than one major playable party and/or cutscenes (like the logain ones in origins) to expand what others are doing around the same time within the game.
Also mini games can enhance and "fill in the holes", such as the introduction of GOD CHILD and STARFANG BOY and how they'll foreshadow and play a role in DA3 (this is an example of possible characters). This mini game should consist of stories (just to get rid of several installations) of major characters that play vital roles in DA3. 1 major decision should be made by the character that should transfer over. And this mini game or game should be an experiment on how to perfect combat mechanics and the likes for DA3 through our (fanbased) input.
