Hi

I've got an interesting issue with MassEffect2. I can save the game and see my save games in the save menu. But I can't load any games or see any characters. I can just resume and it also seems like Mass Effect 2 does not save my "option" changes and key allocation changes?

I've tried to re-install it but I've got the stame issue still?

Any ideas?

Could be a bug, is the option to load a game still in the main menu?

Yep it's there but empty.

Go to 'documents/bioware/mass effect3/save', and check what's inside the individual character folders.

In the save folder there is a folder called ME1 then some files directly in the save folder called autosave.pcsav chaptersave.pcsav qucksave.pcsav and the Save_0001 to Save_0013.pcsav..

The strange thing is that my keyboard setting becomes default if I restart mass effect also it changes the subtitles selection to the "default" No when I restart the game and all the awards you get in the gave like Headhunter and stuff are wiped out and I strart from scratch and this is happening even after the re-installation of the game..

Huh. It's supposed to have a folder that goes something like '[Character Name]_[XX]_[class]_[XXXXXX]' (X being ID numbers). The savegames should be in there, not directly in the save folder. This could potentially cause an error when the game searches for savegames, as it's not in the correct folder. No idea how one would go about fixing it...

Ah that explains why the load page looks a little bit crazy it says Load games for character XX ...

But then I will try to find some XX:es and create that folder manually..

Seems harder to create these folders also.. did a format on my games drives. But the problem still exist on the new installation

I had the exact(?) same problem and found this thread whilst trying to sort it - I simply created a sub folder with Shepherd's first name as the folder name and moved all my save games into it - and volia! it works
