I haven't played any BioWare games since April. Two days ago I find that
my account has been banned after trying to log in. I never got a  notification of my ban.

Over at EA Games Suppor I go for a live chat and they tell me I got banned
for BWPs fraud. Then I get bumped for a 30 person lined que. Waited 40
mins for an expert adviser, which I then get booted for an email form to fill out.

26 hours 43 mins later, I get:

Hello ,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

I
apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. Regarding this issue I
would like to inform you that I have checked your account and found that
your account has been banned through our highest level of customer
support for fraudulent activity in BioWare Points- Fraud Management. So I
am sorry that I could not help you regarding this issue. I would
suggest you please create new account and then try to play the game.

If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.

If you have any further questions or concerns please reply to this email or visit our extensive knowledge base online at http://support.ea.com.

Sincerely,

Nathan

Electronic Arts

I bought DA:O, DA:A, and ME:2 on Steam. I went and checked that I still
had my BWPs purchase confirmation and found that I spent $100.00 on
8,000 BWPs. I am now even more pissed that I spent that much for items I
no longer have the access.

The response left no further explanation, no date on which I got banned for 'fraud', and told me to make a new account.

I feel as if EA Games just took a stick and shoved it up my ass and whispered in my ear 'Buy Everything'.

Yay! Tier 3! What's Tier 3? Is it better than Indigo Gamma Red? Or Theta Lapis Lazuli Tango Green?

Yee ha! Now I feel a tad bit bad for losing my composure earlier. Just a tad bit, because they didn't even give me a chance to contest the ban.

Hey nice work. Glad things turned out. I wonder what made them think you were being fraudulent in the first place...

Glad to see it worked out for you and they unbanned your account Panda. Still a pain it happened in the first place. At least they are going to the effort of getting their superiors to apologise too! For what thats worth anyway.

I'm I one of those people just given the mushroom treatment?

Hello ,

on the issues that I forward to them, once I have given the issue over
to them, they update the issue specifically with the customer.

Another five days of nothing. What? Is everyone being sent to Pax Prime? That would be great for a company morale.

This has happened to me today too, I am absolutely distraught! I am currently waiting for the tier 2 advisor.

I am so upset, angry, stressed and distraught. I don't deal with stress well, and I think it's unfair that I got banned trying to buy a DLC - and the problem was I wasn't being directed to the buy Bioware Points Page... so I tried to click buy now for one DLC 3 times, and another two once, and still nothing - I just got taken to my already bought DLCs....

How on earth can I be committing fraud with 0 POINTS! I was trying to pay for the damn thing! The website doesn't work correctly and I'm suffering? I've been a devout Bioware fan for over 12 years spending hundreds of dollars on their products... and I get told I can't be unbanned ever at tier 1? I'm hoping tier 2 will be more helpful. I don't want to sue, but I will if I have to! I did nothing wrong.

I can't believe it. I'm not so upset about the loss of the updates (although, trust me, I am). But it's the fact that I can't use my original email which I use for everything... the name I use for everything... the things I have paid for... all because I tried to give Bioware money? I just didn't need the extra stress in my life, this is the only slight relief I get - and bam - let's make your life even worse. Hey, let's give you nothing to live for - the world obviously doesn't want you in it at every turn. Thanks Bioware. Thanks. Loyalty means something. I am so distraught.

I've just experienced that my EA account has been banned for same reason as well... looks like EA or bioware or someone has to look into their own lines and figure out what excatly is going on.. but for what you guys have said so far, it looks like my account is lost for ever and i have no clue why... GREAT!

Kahiara2 managed to get his account back within a day or two. I didn't. It is best to contact them directly until they tell you to stop and proceed to ignore you. The Live Service is a bit fickle but a live representative is a little better than waiting for day to day correspondence. Good Luck!

I never did ask this before. Is it in the TOS in which EA Games has the right to forgo any notification of an account being banned?

I really don't give a **** anymore, too long, too stupid to hold a grudge, but it is a mystery in why I never got a word.
