Basically, I have trouble launching ME2 from Origin. It's random, it sometimes works, but other times the only thing that happens is a MassEffect.exe running in the background, but not game at all. The launcher still opens every time, but not the game when I click on play.

I'm confused, I searched the net, but I found no information on such a bug.

Contacted EA support, but they said I needed to re-install the game on C instead on D, but I don't think that's  the case, as Origin is also installed on D. Yes, I have changed the defaul game destination folder and the installers folder to D, but still, the problem persists.

However, when I lauch the game manually - from the desktop shortcut, the auto-play from the DVD, the game works.

Here's the interesting part. Many of you are aware of the slow load bug, and the fix with the task manager affinity. IF ME 2 succeedes in launching from Origin, the bug is gone, there is no need to set the affinity manually.

If it matters, I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and my specs:

Any help would be appreciated. :D

This happens on my Battlefield BC2 launcher as well. It seems Origin has a problem with launching games. All I do is open up task manager and close out the .exe and then just restart, it always works.

System requirements call for a Core2Duo as minimum CPU. A dual Core doesnt quite cut it. That could be part of the problem.
Download MassAffinity, and launch ME2 via that instead of using origins.

Agreed.  This is a case of a decent processor being turned into crap to sell it cheaply.  The Pentium Dual was a Core Two, but almost all of the cache RAM is gutted out.  It ends up running hardly any better than the old P4 Pentiums did, with just one exception.  If the mainboard's setup allows overclocking, they can be cranked up quite a lot on stock cooling.
