It seems a little tricky because I'm wanting to be able to have characters stand around without moving or attacking anyone if I want, but to keep attacking an individual enemy if I order them to, without interruption (unless by enemy spell or talent of course) until I give them another order or until the enemy is dead.
Haven't been able to figure it out yet. Seems if I set the tactics for a character to fight and not disengage from an enemy til death (which I want), they will immediately run off and attack the the first enemy they see (which I don't want). Conversely, if I set a character to not attack an enemy on sight or when engaged (which I want), they will stop fighting an enemy when the enemy moves away or sometimes it seems for no particular reason at all (which I don't want).
I know that many of your first thoughts are probably, "why would you want to plaly this way?" It is simply the way I've always played (from Baldur's, Icewind & Neverwinter through DA & DA 2), and everytime I've played with character AI on, I've not enjoyed the experience as much. Through complete control and micromanagement of all characters, I feel like I'm getting the in's and out's of playing all classes and races of characters in a single play through. Which I really like because I tend not to play games over again and this way I feel I'm getting the broadest experience that I can out of an individual play through. Just me, I guess
