I prefer Grunt, since Wrex is too busy.

if we will get to see wrex and he will be a temp, wouldnt it make since that grunt would be around?

well its steven blum, so yeah. lol.
voice acting in general in ME2 is much superior than ME1s

i mean even the returning cast did a better job in ME2. meer, hale, the dude that does garrus, strokzis? (tali), ect.

but grunt doesnt even know biotics

maybe they'll show up together and you pick which one comes with you as the temp and the other handles something else.

cus i can totally picture grunt becoming wrex's protege B)

I can't begin to tell you how pissed off I will be when I discover that BioWare are actually planning to replace Grunt with this generic no-nothing gears-reject ass hat Vega. Having Grunt replace Wrex is bad enough... but not even having Grunt for favor of a third failed attempt at a human male LI is a haneous design decision: not having a Krogan on the squad at this juncture is a terrible decision given the importance of the Krogan and the Genophage in ME3.

There's no way Grunt is coming back as the vanguard in ME3... they've cameo'd him because he can die and it's that simple.

I don't care what anybody says otherwise... a temporary cameo is still a cameo and cameos suck ass. period.

Agreed.

I read somewhere that Grunt was supposed to be a biotic at one point, but for one reason or another it didn't happen.  A pity.  If he had Warp, I'd use him a hell of a lot more frequently than I do now.  Concussive Shot just doesn't cut it.

Fortack, Lord High Researcher

he will be the only squaddie that uses heavy weapons and can use drones, turrets, and summon mecha-thresher maws and his loyalty power is making a mini Krogan-Reaper

I never understood this.  He doesn't have the same sort of abilities, and he also doesn't have the same sort of personality.  So what makes him a knockoff?  The mere fact he's krogan?

That's hardly a cameo.

He specifically said "a temporary cameo" which clearly refers to the temp squad member thing we'll see in ME3.  LotSB is obviously the precedent for that.  IOW, he's trying to redefine what "cameo" means because that pushes fan-rage buttons.

This. Except a Yahg would be really overpowered. But still, this.

A couple of weeks ago I created a thread about how Grunt could potentially comeback as the main vanguard if Vega takes up the spot as the 'tank' soldier in ME3 because of the calibre of his genes and as his bloodlines are all derived from the greatest Battlemasters who are all vanguards.... his age could potentially be negated by the collector technology he was created with.... but then I faced the facts that they are in all probability just going to cameo him because he can die and then I remember racking my brains trying to think of what possible reason they could have for him to leave Shepard and the Normandy and I came up with two motivations;

1) The Urdnot shaman demanded he return to tuchanka after the SM
2) Okeer could have had a plan all along for the future of the Krogan race and Grunt is the key. Perhaps the 'connection' Okeer mentioned was in the form of a message communicating and laying out his plan. Failure to 'implant/impart connection' has impeded it's transition/progress until now.

Perhaps the Krogan female is vital merely in uniting the Krogan to fight for a future worth fighting for but Grunt is part of that future. Perhaps the Krogan female is part of Okeer's plan. Perhaps he could be some mythical figure prophesied in Krogan tribal religious beliefs that Okeer grew in a laboratory with test tubes splicing genes together.

I've never heard or seen anything to suggest that about Grunt, but Mordin definitely was.  He has cut dialogue for doing the barrier during the SM.

Hey, I love Wrex and all, but because he's working with the Krogan, I want him to stay as a temp squad mate. I'd love to get Grunt back.

I hope Grunt's beautiful silver skull has hardened and grown into a fully grown plate!

grunt should no doubt be a perma squadmate. i love wrex to death but i understand hes not available to everyone, and having an epic sidequest where i help wrex get laid by a princess might even be more satisfying for me. but i think grunt is basically the ultimate footsoldier. uniting lies in the hands of somebody else. grunt belongs at the side of the character saving the galaxy, not uniting a species. hes sortof my least favorite character in ME2 too, but his new-birth situation might be interesting to expand upon in ME3.

i also dont think you can replace a krogan, even grunt, with a pig nosed noob recruit human. tank, shmank. i need a krogan squadmate as much as i need a turian and asari.

Wasn't Wrex's skillset set up kinda like a vanguard?
That would be one helluva biotic charge with ME3's mechanics. :P

Well I think it will likely be Grunt, unless he's dead or you never woke him up.  Then you get no krogan goodness in your squad.  Shame on you!

More seriously, what happens if you never woke up Grunt?  Is his tank still there, and can you activate him late?
